(C47 North Of Nisbet) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (C47 North of Nisbet) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 29 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00. The Order is required for BT pole works. When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the C47 North of Nisbet at Upper Nisbet.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the C47, B6400, A698, B6352, A699 and C47 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. A map showing the restriction and alternative routes can be seen at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk.

(Various Roads, Galashiels – Ladhope Vale) (Temporary One Way) Order 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (Various Roads, Galashiels – Ladhope Vale) (Temporary One Way) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 29 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 18 February 2024 as detailed below. The Order is required for installation of a new power connection.

When the Order comes into effect, One Way Orders in a southerly direction will be in force on the following roads in Galashiels:

(a)   Ladhope Vale from Stirling Place to the entrance to Starbucks from 8:00 on 29 January to 17:00 on 11 February 2024. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Currie Road, George Craig Bridge, Paton Street, Cornmill Square, Bank Street, High Street, Bridge Place and Ladhope Vale to the point of restriction; and

(b)   (i) Stirling Place from Ladhope Vale to Stirling Street; and (ii) Stirling Street from Stirling Place to the current one way restriction from 08:00 on 12 February to 17:00 on 18 February 2024. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Stirling Street, Market Street, Cornmill Square, Bank Street, High Street, Bridge Place and Ladhope Vale to the point of restriction.

No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle in a northerly direction.

(Various Roads – Galashiels Community Campus) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (Various Roads – Galashiels Community Campus) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 29 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 5 April 2024 as detailed below. The Order is required for a new power connection to the Galashiels Community Campus.

When the Order comes into effect, in Galashiels:

(a) Phase 1: 

(i)    no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Gala Park at its junction with Bank Street Brae from 08:00 on 29 January to 18:00 on 16 February 2024. The alternative route for southbound traffic is via Livingstone Place, St Andrew Street, St John Street and Gala Park to the point of closure, for northbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(ii)   from 06:00 on 29 January to 18:00 on 16 February 2024, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along both sides of the following streets:

                          Livingstone Place – from Bank Street Brae to number 20

                          Bank Street Brae – from Livingstone Place to Bank Street

                          St Andrew Street – from Livingstone Place to number 62

                          Gala Park – from Livingstone Place to number 46  

                          Gala Park – from Livingstone Place to number 63; (b)  Phase 2:

(i)    no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along St Andrew Street at its junction with Livingstone Place from 08:00 on 12 February to 18:00 on 1 March 2024. The alternative route for southbound traffic is via Livingstone Place, Gala Park, St John Street and St Andrew Street to the point of closure, for northbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(ii)   from 06:00 on 12 February to 18:00 on 1 March 2024, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along both sides of the following streets:

                          Livingstone Place – from Scott Street to Bank Street Brae

                          Bank Street Brae – from Livingstone Place to Bank Street

                          St Andrew Street – from Livingstone Place to number 62             

                          Gala Park – from Livingstone Place to number 46

                          Gala Park – from Livingstone Place to number 63 (c)  Phase 3:

(i)    a One Way Order in a north easterly direction will be in force on Livingstone Place from Scott Street to St Andrew Street from 08:00 on 26 February to 18:00 on 5 April 2024. No person shall drive in a south westerly direction. The alternative route for south westbound traffic is via St Andrew Street, Balmoral Place and Scott Street to the point of restriction; and

(ii)   from 06:00 on 26 February to 18:00 on 5 April 2024, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along both sides of the following streets:

                          Livingstone Place – from Scott Street to Bank Street Brae

                          Bank Street Brae – from Livingstone Place to Bank Street

                          St Andrew Street – from Livingstone Place to number 62               

                          Gala Park – from Livingstone Place to number 46

                          Gala Park – from Livingstone Place to number 63

(B709 Dewar, Heriot) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (B709 Dewar, Heriot) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 29 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 30 January 2024 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for BT Openreach works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B709 at Dewar, Heriot from the B7007 southwards.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the B709, A72, B710, A7 and B709 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. A map showing the restriction and alternative routes can be seen at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk.

(Sprouston Road, Newtown St Boswells) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (Sprouston Road, Newtown St Boswells) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 30 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 to 18:00. The Order is required for Scottish Water manhole repairs.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Sprouston Road, Newtown St Boswells from the B6340 westwards for 25 metres.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Sprouston Road, Glenburn Avenue, Bowden Road and the B6340 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(Abbotseat Area, Kelso) (Temporary Traffic Regulation And Revocation) No 2 Order 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (Abbotseat Area, Kelso) (Temporary Traffic Regulation and Revocation) No 2 Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 30 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 21 May 2024 as detailed below. The Order is required for SGN gas main renewal works.

When the Order comes into effect, in Kelso:

(a)  no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the following roads in the Abbotseat area;

(i)    Closure 1: Abbotseat from Number 2 to Prior’s Court from 30 January to 20 February 2024 between the hours of 08:30 and 16:15 on weekdays only. The alternative route for clockwise traffic is via Abbotseat to the point of closure, for anti-clockwise traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(ii)   Closure 2: Prior’s Court from Abbotseat to Number 35 from 08:00 on 31 January to 18:00 on 27 February 2024 – 24 hour closure. The alternative route for clockwise traffic is via Abbotseat and Halliden Road to the point of closure, for anti-clockwise traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

(b)  no person shall walk, cycle or wheel along the footpath between Prior’s Court and Masons Court leading to Golf Course Road from 08:00 on 24 April to 17:00 on 21 May 2024. The alternative clockwise pedestrian route is via Golf Course Road, Abbotseat and Prior’s Court to the point of closure, the alternative anti-clockwise pedestrian route is the reverse of the foregoing.

The Scottish Borders Council (Abbotseat Area, Kelso) (Temporary Traffic Regulation and Revocation) Order 2024 dated 8 January 2024 is hereby revoked in respect of Closure 1 of that Order.
