What is happening?

West Sussex County Council

(Burgess Hill: Public Footpath 58_1Hu/1C) 

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Public Footpath 58_1Hu/1C in Burgess Hill, from its junction with Charles Avenue, westwards to its junction with Jane Murray Way. The road closure is needed to maintain safety while an access road next to the affected route is rebuilt.

The Order will come into effect on 29 January 2024 and remain in force for up to 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order an alternative route will be signed locally.

(Mid Sussex District: Various Roads) (Road Maintenance Programme) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2023

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, temporarily prohibit waiting at any time and temporarily introduce 20 mph speed limits on the following roads in Mid Sussex District throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated:

BURGESS HILL: Adur Road, Church Road, Crescent Way, Cyprus Road, Gordon Road from Gladstone Road to Junction Road, Junction Road from Leylands Road to the railway level crossing, Keymer Road, Leylands Road from Gladstone Road to

Valebridge Road, Valebridge Road from Leylands Road to Grange Close.  EAST GRINSTEAD: Halsford Park Road, Holtye Road from the Blackwell Hollow Roundabout to Pump House Farm, Manor Road from Halsford Park Road to Linden Road, West Hoathly Road from Coombe Hill Road to the county boundary. HASSOCKS: Ditchling Road from Gunns Acre to Clayton Hill, Underhill Lane from Clayton Hill eastwards for 100 metres. HAYWARDS HEATH: Ash Grove, Ashenground

Road, Drummond Close, Harlands Road, Petlands Road from St Edmunds Road to Sussex Road, Redwood Drive, Sandrocks Way, Sandy Vale, Selby Court, Southdown Close, Sunnywood Drive, Sussex Road, Triangle Road, Vale Close, Wivelsfield Road from St Johns Road to Petlands Road. HORSTED KEYNES: Birchgrove Road from The Green to Danehill Brook, Station  Road from cinder Hill Lane to Leighton Road. HURSTPIERPOINT & SAYERS COMMON: Pookbourne Lane from Dumbrells Farm Way to Mill Lane. PYECOMBE: Clayton Hill (A273) from Mill Lane to New Way Lane. WORTH: Border Chase, Borers Arms Road, from Church Road to Copthorne Bank, Brookhill Close, Brookhill Road, Brookview, Calluna Drive from Kitsmead to Brookhill Road, Church Lane from Brookhill Road to Fairway, Church Road, Copthorne Bank, Copthorne Common (A264) from Copthorne Road (A2220) eastwards for 100 metres, Copthorne Hotel Roundabout, Copthorne Road (A2220), Copthorne Way from Copthorne Road westwards for 100 metres, Dukes Head Roundabout, Meadow Approach, Roffeys Close, Shipley Bridge Lane from Elgar Way to Copthorne Bank, Snow Hill (A264), Wallage Lane, Westway. These restrictions are needed to allow the 2024 road maintenance programme to be carried out in safety.  Each of the affected roads are expected to be closed for up to three days.  Dates for works will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time they are carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 25 January 2024 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site.  Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

((Mid Sussex District) (Parking Places & Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation No.2) Order 2006) 

(Haywards Heath: Augustines Way and Various Roads Amendment) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to amend parking restrictions on lengths of roads in Haywards Heath as follows:

Augustines Way: to prohibit waiting at any time (Introduce double yellow lines) on both sides of the road at its junction with Pineham Copse. Hoblands: to make short adjustments to the length of other existing lengths of double yellow line in the road and adjust the order to match existing restrictions. Manaton Close: to install double yellow lines at the entrance to the northern garage compound. Syresham Gardens: to remove a section of single yellow line opposite its junction with Caxton Way.

The Order also adjusts the Order enacting parking restrictions in Woodridge Close and Vale Road to match the existing restrictions installed on those roads.
