(Arun District: Various Roads) (Road Maintenance Programme) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, temporarily prohibit waiting at any time and temporarily introduce 20 mph speed limits on the following roads in Arun District throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated:

ANGMERING: Downs Way from Heathfield Avenue to Station Road and from Downs Way Service Road to Roundstone Lane, Roundstone Lane from Old Worthing Road to the A259.

ARUNDEL: Bernard Road, Birch Close, Canada Road, Dalloway Road, Daltons Place, Dukes Close, Fitzalan Road from Daltons Place to the southern end of the road, Ford Road from Maxwell Road to Tortington Lane, Green Lane Close, Hazel Grove, Herrington Road, High Ridge Close, Hill Terrace, Kirdford Road, Malthouse Close, Maxwell Road, Oak End, Priory Lane, Priory Road, Stewards Rise, Torton Hill Road, Wood View.

EAST PRESTON: Station Road (B2140), Worthing Road from Copse View to Station Road.

FORD: Ford Lane from Ford Road westwards for 50m, Ford Road from the railway level crossing to the entrance to the Ship and Anchor public house and from the junction with Ford Lane to the Ford Prison main entrance, Station Road from the entrance to the Ship and Anchor public house to its junction with Ford Lane.

FINDON: A24 from Horsham Road to High Street and Bost Hill to Long Furlong, Cross Lane from the A24 eastwards for 10m, High Street from the A24 eastwards for 10m, The Quadrangle from the A24 westwards for 10m.

FELPHAM: Blakes Road, Downview Road from Whitelands to Golf Links Road, Golf Links Road, Goodwood Way, Lindsay Court, Ormsby Crescent, Ranworth Close, Somerson Green, South Road, Stalham Way, Sutton Close, Walsham Close, Whitelands, Wroxham Way.

LITTLEHAMPTON: A259 Littlehampton Bypass from New Courtwick Lane to Lyminster Road Roundabout, A259 Worthing Road from Lyminster Road Roundabout to Worthing Road Roundabout, Coomes Way, Courtwick Lane from Condor Mews to Lyminster Road, Gladonian Road, Globe Place, Griffin Crescent, Horsham Road (B2187), Lyminster Road from the Lyminster Road roundabout to Mill Lane, Lyminster Road Roundabout, Sandfield Avenue, Wick Street from Lyminster Road Roundabout southwards for 50m.

RUSTINGTON: Angmering Way, Sheep Fold Avenue from Station Road westwards for 50m, Station Road from the A259 to Paddock Green, The Leas, Vicarage Lane.

SLINDON: Shellbridge Road.

YAPTON: Flansham Lane Roundabout, Lake Lane from Yapton Lane (B2132) westwards for 100m, Main Road from North End Road to Yapton Road, North End Road from the railway Level Crossing to Maypole Lane, West Bank, Yapton Lane from the Railway Level Crossing northwards for 200m, Yapton Road from Lake Lane to Main Road.

These restrictions are needed to allow the 2024 road maintenance programme to be carried out in safety.  Each of the affected roads are expected to be closed for up to three days.  Dates for works will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time they are carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 25 January 2024 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site.  Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Southbourne: Cooks Lane) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close Cooks Lane between Inlands Road and Furnston Grove.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst sewage mains works are undertaken.      

The Order will come into effect on 12 February 2024 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will commence on or after 12 February 2024 and will take 2 weeks to complete.

(Milland: Iping Lane & Iping Road) (Temporary Daytime Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that no less than 7 days from the date of this Notice West Sussex County Council intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect ofwhich will be to close Iping Lane and Iping Road between Hazelbank Farm and Tentworth Lane.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst telecommunication works are undertaken. 

The Order will come into effect on 12 February 2024 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. Works are expected to commence on or after 12 February 2024 between 0930 and 1530 hours daily and take 14 days to complete.

(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024 NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting at anytime on the following roads throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated.

This Order will also introduce a temporary 30mph speed limit on major ‘A’ class roads and a temporary 20mph speed limit on minor and non-classified roads:

These road closures are needed to protect public safety whilst the 2024 highway maintenance programme is carried out. It is expected that the affected roads will be closed for upto 3 days.  Temporary speed limits may be required in preparation for the works, during the works and inbetween phases of the works. The exact dates and duration of the works and the traffic management in each location will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time.

The Order will come into effect on 25 January 2024 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the works alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site.  Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

((Chichester District) (Parking Places & Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 2010) (Chidham Lane Amendment) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, West Sussex County Council, made a permanent Order the effect of which will be to extend the School Keep Clear prohibiting stopping at any time on both sides of Chidham Lane across the entire frontage of Chidham Parochial Primary School.

The Order will come into operation on 29 January 2024.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the West Sussex County Council Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 25 January 2024, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
