King Street West - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (KING STREET WEST, STOCKPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffc (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce Temporary Prohibition of Driving at King Street West from the junction of Chestergate to the junction of Heaton Lane whilst traffc signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary because to undertake trial trenched to investigate bridge waterproofng. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 5 days.Alternative routes will be provided via:- Northbound: Shaw Heath, Greek Street, Wellington Rd South, Travis Brow. Southbound: Travis Brow, Pyramid Roundabout Brinksway/Chestergate. This Order is to come into operation on the 5 February 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
