Passageway At Carrington Road - Temporary Closure
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (PASSAGEWAY AT CARRINGTON ROAD) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffc (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to temporarily close the passageway from Carrington Road to Stockport Road for the full length whilst traffc signs to that effect are in place on or near the said passageway. This Order is necessary because to enable bridge refurbishment works to take place. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 5 days. Alternative routes will be provided via:- Carrington Road, Stockport Road West, New Zealand Road, Newbridge Lane and vice versa. This Order is to come into operation on the 5 February 2024 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
