Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

The Secretary of State for Transport has directed that the Order made by Kent County Council on the 25 July 2023, the effect of which was to prohibit all traffic from Public Footpath DR9 has been extended for a further 12 months, until the 31 January 2025.

The path is closed from behind Stone Lodge School to where the path heads downhill towards Stone Lodge Road.

The alternative route will be signed for the duration of the closure.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAYS KM82 (PART) AND KH123A (PART) THURNHAM)PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENTMODIFICATION ORDER 2024

The above named Order made on 10 January 2024 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the entire width of that length of public bridleway numbered KM82 which begins at an unaffected length of bridleway KM82 at NGR TQ 8043 5597 (Point A) and travels in a northerly direction for 170 metres to NGR TQ 8046 5614 (Point B), then continues in a north northeasterly direction for 239 metres to NGR TQ 8058 5635 (Point X), then continues in a northeasterly direction for 97 metres to NGR TQ 8065 5641 (Point P), where the path terminates at its junction with Public Bridleway KH123A. As shown by the bold continuous line between Points A – B – X – P on the Order Plan and will add a new length of Public Bridleway numbered KM82 with a width of 4.0 metres which begins at the aforementioned Point A and travels in a northeasterly direction for 438 metres to NGR TQ 8068 5634 (Point C), then continues in a westerly direction for 99 metres to NGR TQ 8058 5635 (Point X), where the path terminates at its junction with Public Bridleway KM81. As shown by the broken line with crossbars in the intervals between Points A – C – X on the Order Plan.

Also the entire width of that length of public bridleway numbered KH123A which begins at NGR TQ 8071 5638 (Point Q) and travels in a northwesterly then southwesterly direction for 70 metres to NGR TQ 8065 5641 (Point P). As shown by the bold continuous line between Points Q – P on the Order Plan and will add a new length of public bridleway numbered KH123A with a width of 4.0 metres which begins at the aforementioned Point Q, and travels in a southwesterly direction for 48 metres to NGR TQ 8068 5634 (Point C), where the path terminates along the length of Public Bridleway KM82. As shown by the broken line with crossbars in the intervals between Points Q – C on the Order Plan.

NOTICE OF THE MAKING OF AN ORDER TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE PUBLIC FOOTPATH KM198 IN THE PARISH OF YALDING

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH KM198)(PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath KM198 between its junction with Hampstead Lane and its junction with Public Footpaths KM197 and KM329 at Stoneham Lock from 01 February 2024.

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen by 30 May 2024.

The path is to be closed because the footbridge at Twyford Marina is being replaced by the Environment Agency.

There is no off road, traffic-free alternative route but there is a largely on-road alternative via footpath KM329, Gravelly Ways, Lees Road and Public Footpath KM199 but caution should be exercised using this route due to traffic.

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL(PUBLIC FOOTPATH ZF5 (PART), FAVERSHAM)PUBLIC PATH CREATION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024

The above-named Order made on 3 January 2024 under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 will add a new length of public footpath numbered ZF5 with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences on an unaffected length of Public Footpath ZF5 at NGR TR 0180 6257 (point A) and runs north-west for 204 metres to a connection with Ham Road at NGR TR 0165 6270 (point B). The path then continues to run north-east along the inside of the field boundary for approximately 157 metres to its connection with Ham Road at NGR TR 0176 6280 (point C). As shown between the points A-B-C on the Order plan.

The above-named Order made on 3rd January 2024 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish the entire width of that length of public footpath numbered ZF5, which commences on an unaffected length of Public Footpath ZF5 at NGR TR 0180 6257 (point A) and runs north-east for 207 metres to NGR TR 0192 6273 (point B), then runs west north-west for 100 metres to its connection with a non-publicly maintainable section of Ham Road at NGR TR 0183 6278 (point C). As shown between the points A-B-C on the Order plan.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION AND COMING INTO EFFECT OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 7 OF SCHEDULE 14

SWALE BOROUGH COUNCIL(STOPPING UP OF PART OF THE WIDTH OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH ZR196, TONGE)PUBLIC PATH STOPPING UP ORDER 2023

On the 15 January 2024 Swale Borough Council confirmed the above Order under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and on the 15 January 2024 the Kent County Council – on behalf of Swale Borough Council – certified that the terms of Article 2 have been complied with, as such the order has come into effect.

The effect of the Order will be that partial width of that length of Public Footpath numbered ZR196 which commences on an unaffected length of Public Footpath ZR196 at NGR TQ 9397 6277 (Point A) and runs in a south southwesterly direction for 23 metres to another unaffected length of Public Footpath ZR196 at NGR TQ 9396 6275 (Point B). The width between the aforementioned points A – B is 8 metres. 3 metres of that width will be stopped up, reducing the width to 5 metres.

The Order came into force on the 15 January 2024 when the Kent County Council, on behalf of Swale Borough Council certified that the terms of article 2 of the Order had been complied with, but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH MR539)(PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath MR539 between Whitebine Gardens and Hale Street from 29 January 2024

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen 9 February 2024

The path is closed because excavation works are planned on it.

The alternative route is via Whitebine Gardens, Crown Acres and Hale Street and will be signed for the duration of the closure.
