What is happening?
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (BERRY STREET)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on Berry Street in both directions at its junction with Victoria Square/Pipers Row. The one-way system is to be suspended temporarily to allow for two-way traffic. In addition, Princess Street Pedestrian Zone is also to be suspended temporarily and bollards lowered to allow for diversion of traffic. The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on 21 January 2024 from 08:00 until 17:30. The diversion route is: Castle Street, Market Street, Princess Street. The Order is required to facilitate remedial reinstatement by Cadent Gas.
