Tunbridge Wells, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA

B2079 BEDGEBURY ROAD & MAYPOLE LANE, GOUDHURST TN17 1AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow drainage investigation into water leaks to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2079 Bedgebury Road & Maypole Lane, Goudhurst, on or after 14th February 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction of Tiddymotts Lane to outside Whites. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tiddymotts Lane, B2079 Balcombes Hill, A262 The Plain, A262 West Road, A262 Clayhill, Ranters Lane, Peasley Lane, B2079 Bedgebury Road and vice versa.

BARDEN ROAD, BIDBOROUGH & SPELDHURST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to take place, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barden Road, Bidborough & Speldhurst, on or after 14th February 2024 for 1 day.

The road will be closed between the junctions of B2176 Penshurst Road and Furzefield Avenue, working between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barden Road, Speldhurst Hill, Penshurst Road, Poundsbridge, Poundsbridge Lane, B2176 Penshurst Road and vice versa.

COMMERCIAL ROAD, TUNBRIDGE WELLS, TN1 2RJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of UKPN works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Commercial Road, Tunbridge Wells, on or after 29th January 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Camden Road and Norman Road.

The alternative route is via Norman Road, Stanley Road, Camden Road and vice versa.

COMMON ROAD, CRANBROOK TN17 2JT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow a new gas main connection, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Common Road, Cranbrook, on or after 13th February 2024 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Lomeer. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Common Road, A229 The Common, A229 Wilsey Pound, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

DOWDING WAY, ROYAL TUNBRIDGE WELLS TN2 3XF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dowding Way, Royal Tunbridge Wells, on or after 13th February 2024 for up 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside North Farm House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via North Farm Road, Upper Grosvenor Road, Sandhurst Road, Birken Road, Liptraps Lane, Lamberts Road, Dowding Way and vice versa.

FIR TREE ROAD, TUNBRIDGE WELLS, TN4 8AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of highway drainage improvement works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Fir Tree Road, Tunbridge Wells, on or after 29th January 2024 for up to 35 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length.

There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.

STATION ROAD, PADDOCK WOOD, TN12 6EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Station Road, Paddock Wood, on or after 29th January 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 35.

The alternative route is via Station Road, Commercial Road, B2160 Maidstone Road and vice versa.

STREAM LANE, HAWKHURST, TN18 4RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stream Lane, Hawkhurst, on or after 31st January 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Thorpes Farm.

The alternative route is via Stream Lane, Conghurst Lane, B2244 Hastings Road and vice versa.

THE GREEN, MATFIELD TN12 7LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Green, Matfield, on or after 12th February 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Seymour Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Green, B2160 Maidstone Road, The Green and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS HALF MARATHON (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon 18 February 2024

Kent County Council intends to make an Order for the safety of the public whilst an event is being held on the highway to temporarily prohibit the use of Vehicles on:-

Diversion is via A264Ashurst Road, B2188 Fordcombe Road, Chafford Lane, Walters Green Road, Sandfield Road, B2188 Saints Hill/New Road/Fordcombe Road/High Street, B2176 Rogues Hill/Penshurst Road/Bidborough Ridge, A26 London Road/St John’s Road, A264 Mount Ephraim/Bishops Down/Langton Road.

The Order will be effective when required on Sunday 18 February 2024 between 09.00hrs and 12.30hrs. The restrictions/prohibitions specified in this notice will apply in the direction and only at such times as indicated by traffic signs in operation.

Nothing in the Order will apply to:

• Any Vehicle being used for Ambulance purposes, Coastguard/RNLI, Fire Brigade or Police services.

• Anything done by a Statutory Undertaker vehicle in connection with an emergency repair.

• Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a KCC traffic Marshal, Event Organisers or a Police Constable in Uniform.
