Temporary Closure of The Plocks, Blandford Forum

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along The Plocks, Blandford Forum in its entirety. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19 February 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 February 2024.

This Order will enable Gigaclear, safe access to carry out fibre installation works in the highway.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Various Roads, Farnham

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 09:00 - 16:00 on 21 February 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 February 2024.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary road closure on; Millers Lane, Farnham as indicated by signs on site.

[ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Millers Lane, Farnham.

[iii] To impose a temporary road closure on; Unnamed Lane, Farnham as indicated by signs on site.

[iv] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Unnamed Lane, Farnham.

Temporary Closure of Unnamed Road, Woodsford

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Unnamed Road, Woodsford between Woodsford Road and Watery Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 270 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19 February 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29 February 2024.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to provide a new electricity supply.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Woodsford Road, Frome Valley Road, West Link Road, B3390 and vice versa.

Temporary Closure of Rectory Road, Broadmayne

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along RECTORY ROAD, BROADMAYNE, in two phases;

[1] Between its junctions with Chalky Road and Broadmead.

[2] Between its junctions with Broadmead and the A352, a distance of approximately 300 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 January 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8 March 2024.

This Order will enable SGN, safe access to carry out gas mains replacement scheme.

An alternative route will be signed using: A352 - Chalky Road.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Crossways

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Crossways as listed:

[i] Moynton Close, Crossways in its entirety;

[ii] Hurricane Close, Crossways in its entirety;

[iii] Airfield Close, Crossways in its entirety;

[iv] Spitfire Close, Crossways in its entirety;

[v] Coombe Way, Crossways in its entirety;

[vi] Briars End, Crossways in its entirety;

[vii] Egdon Glen, Crossways in its entirety;

[viii] Old Farm Way, Crossways from junction with Mount Skippet Way to outside 15 Old Farm Way.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 07:30 and 16:00 on 29 February 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 4 March 2024.

This Order will enable Kiely Bros Ltd to carry out carriageway surface treatment works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around Old Farm Way. For the rest of the closures there will be no alternative route, however access will be maintained.

Temporary Closure of Elwell Street, Upwey, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along ELWELL STREET, UPWEY, WEYMOUTH between its junction with Church Street and the access to the public footpath, a distance of approximately 370 metres.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5 February 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 February 2024.

This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out sewer renovation works to prevent infiltration.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; B3159 - Stottingway Street - Dorchester Road.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Charminster

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, CHARMINSTER; Vicarage Lane, Mill Lane and Wanchard Lane. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 27 January 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 15 June 2024.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to install 33kV cable to replace faulty cable.

These works will be carried out in phases as follows:

[1] Vicarage Lane between 27 January 2024 and 18 February 2024, there will be 3 phases during this period

[2] Mill Lane between 14 February 2024 and 23 March 2024, there will be 2 phases during this period

[3] Wanchard Lane between 18 April 2024 and 26 May 2024, there will be 3 phases during this period

[4] Wanchard Lane between 26 May 2024 and 13 June 2024

[5] Vicarage Lane between 1 June 2024 and 15 June 2024

An alternative vehicular route will be signed for each phase.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to install electrical cable in the highway.

The effect of the Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary clearway to prevent vehicles stopping except those associated with the works on The Grove for its entirety - 1 February 2024 until 5 March 2024

[2] To impose temporary one way closure (northbound) on The Grove between its junction with Top o' Town roundabout to its junction with Millers Close -1 February 2024 until 5 March 2024

[3] To impose a no left turn restriction on School Lane at its junction with The Grove - 1 February 2024 until 5 March 2024

[4] To impose a no right turn restriction on Northernhay at its junction with The Grove - 1 February 2024 until 5 March 2024

[5] To impose temporary road closure on Princes Street between its junctions with Albert Road and West Walks Road - 6 March 2024 until 19 March 2024

[6] To impose temporary footpath closure on West Walks from its junction with Princes Street to its junction with Bowling Alley Walk - 20 March 2024 until 25 April 2024

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 74, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath 74, from grid reference SY 658 767 to grid reference SY 665 762 a distance of approximately 860 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 29 January 2024 for a period of 26 weeks, but it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This closure is required due to the unstable ground below the footpath which is slumping into the sea below taking the footpath with it.
