What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC ARDELEY 10/COTTERED 34

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 (1)

of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horseriders, cyclists and vehicles

from using that length of Byway Open to All Traffic Ardeley 10/Cottered 34, section heading south and

east towards junction with Cottered 21, for an approximate distance of 100 m.

Alternative Route: via Cottered 23, Warren Lane and Cottered 14

The purpose of the Order is to enable embankment works to take place.

The section of Byway Open to All Traffic Ardeley 10/Cottered 34 will be closed on or after 05 February

2024 for up to 6 months, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NEWNHAM ROAD, NEWNHAM) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Newnham Road, Newnham from a point 131m south east of its junction with Ashwell Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 64m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Newnham Road, Ashwell Road, Newnham Way, West End, High Street, Lucas Lane, Station Road, A505 (Baldock Road/Royston Road/Royston Bypass), B656 (Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road/Royston Road), A507 (Station Road/North Road/Great North Road) and Newnham Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VERULAM ROAD, HITCHIN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Verulam Road, Hitchin from its junction with Convent Close north westwards to its junction with St Annes Road, a distance of approximately 76m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Verulam Road, B656 Walsworth Road, A505 Nightingale Road and Verulam Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED BENEATH CLOVELLY WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated beneath Clovelly Way, Stevenage from its junction with Bude Crescent south westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the cycle track situated on the north side of 'Meadway Court', a distance of approximately 148m ("the Cycle Track"). An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the north side of No.36 and No.58 Bude Crescent, the footpath situated to the rear of Nos.56-78 Bude Crescent, the footpath situated on the north side of No.100 Bude Crescent, the footpath situated on the north side of No.120 and No.182 Bude Crescent, the subway situated on the south east side of No.220 Bude Crescent, the cycle track situated beneath the A1072 Gunnels Wood Road/Bridge Road West roundabout and the cycle track situated on the north side of 'Meadway Court'.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 February 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

JACKS HILL, GRAVELEY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B197 Jacks Hill, Graveley from its junction with Graveley Lane north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A505 Baldock Bypass, a distance of approximately 2750m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B197 (High Street/Graveley Road), the A1(M) and A505 Baldock Bypass or via B197 (High Street/Graveley Road), A602 (Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road), B656 (Hitchin Hill/Park Street/Queen Street/Walsworth Road) and A505 (Cambridge Road/ Hitchin Road/ Baldock Road/Letchworth Gate/Baldock Bypass).

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of West Lane, Pirton from its junction with Royal Oak Lane south westwards to its easternmost junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 508m.

An alternative route will be via Royal Oak Lane, Walnut Tree Road, Priors Hill, Shillington Road and West Lane.

2. that length of Priors Hill, Pirton from its junction with Shillington Road south eastwards to its junction with Great Green, a distance of approximately 600m.

An alternative route will be via Shillington Road, West Lane, Royal Oak Lane, Walnut Tree Road and Hitchin Road.

3. that length of Hitchin Road, Pirton from its junction with Great Green south eastwards to its junction with B655 Hexton Road, a distance of approximately 2740m.

An alternative route will be via Priors Hill, Shillington Road, West Lane, Holwell Road, Waterloo Lane, Pirton Road, Holwell Road, A600 Bedford Road, A505 (Bedford Road/ Paynes Park/Upper Tilehouse Street) and B655 Pirton Road or via B655 Pirton Road, A505 (Upper Tilehouse Street/Old Park Road/ Bedford Road), A600 Bedford Road, Holwell Road, Pirton Road, Waterloo Lane, Holwell Road, West Lane, Shillington Road and Priors Hill.

4. that length of Walnut Tree Road, Pirton from its junction with Hitchin Road north eastwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 475m.

An alternative route will be via Priors Hill, Shillington Road, West Lane and Royal Oak Lane. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 February 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. 4. the service road fronting Nos.44-58 High Street, Stevenage from its junction with Bell Lane north westwards for its entire length.

10. that length of Winchester Close, Stevenage from its junction with Pilgrims Way westwards for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via Highbury Road and Wymondley Road.

10. that length of Chiltern Green, Hitchin from its junction with The Avenue south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Wymondley Road, a distance of approximately 300m.

An alternative route will be via The Avenue, Highbury Road and Wymondley Road.

11. that length of B197 London Road, Knebworth from its junction with Station Road south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 728m.

An alternative route will be via B197 (Stevenage Road/London Road), A602 (Lytton Way/ Hitchin Road/ Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road), B656 (London Road/Hitchin Road/ High Street/Codicote Road/ Link Road/Church Street) and B197 (Great North Road/ Mardley Hill/London Road) or via B197 (London Road/Mardley Hill/Great North Road), B656 (Church Street/Link Road/Codicote Road/High Street/Hitchin Road/London Road), A602 (Stevenage Road/ Wymondley Bypass/Hitchin Road/Lytton Way/High Street/James Way/Lytton Way) and B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road).

An alternative route will be via B197 London Road, Station Road and Pondcroft Road.

14. that length of Park Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Station Approach north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Gipsy Lane, a distance of approximately 488m.

An alternative route will be via Station Approach, Station Road, B197 (London Road/ Mardley Hill/ Great North Road), B656 (Church Street/Link Road/Codicote Road/High Street/Hitchin Road), Drivers End Lane and Park Lane.

15. that length of Gipsy Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Park Lane south eastwards to its junction with Orchard Way, a distance of approximately 422m.

An alternative route will be via Park Lane, Station Approach, Gun Lane, Stockens Green Lane and Gipsy Lane.

16. that length of Lytton Fields, Knebworth from its junction with Park Lane south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Hornbeam Spring, a distance of approximately 335m.

An alternative route will be via Park Lane, Station Approach, Gun Lane and Hornbeam Springs.

17. that length of Wallington Road, Baldock from its junction with A505 Baldock Bypass south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Kits Lane, a distance of approximately 2842m.

An alternative route will be via A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road), C5 (unnamed road), Redhill, C10 (unnamed road), The Street and Kits Lane.

18. that length of Kits Lane/The Street and C10 (unnamed road), Wallington from its junction with Wallington Road south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Redhill, a distance of approximately 326m.

An alternative route will be via Wallington Road, A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road), C5 (unnamed road) and Redhill.
