What is happening?

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF SWALE)(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)(AMENDMENT No.47) ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The Order was made on 25 th January 2024, will come into effect on 16th February 2024, and will Amend the Kent County Council (Various Roads, Borough of Swale) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2019 by

(a) adjusting the existing double yellow lines in Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne, to accommodate the new junction of Seddingbourne Way, Sittingbourne

(b) installing single yellow lines, with restrictions between 10am and 11am Monday to Friday, in Cole Close, Tylden Gardens, Cambria Crescent, Parrett Avenue and Seddingbourne Way, between Parrett Avenue and Tylden Gardens, in Sittingbourne.

A formal consultation on these proposals previously took place in April 2019 as part of Traffic Regulation Order Swale Amendment 3 2019, but the restrictions were not installed on site within the permitted timeframe.

Full details are contained in the made Order which, together with a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, a map and a copy of any Orders which will be amended by the Order may be examined on the consultation page of our website at www.swale.gov.uk, or further information can be requested by emailing Engineers@swale.gov.uk.

Any person wishing to question the validity of an Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Act or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
