Various Roads - No Stopping On School Entrance Markings Variation
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE TRAFFIC REGULATION (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (VARIOUS ROADS - NO STOPPING ON SCHOOL ENTRANCE MARKINGS VARIATION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 11th January 2024 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 29 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which amends the City of Newcastle upon Tyne Traffic Regulation (Consolidation) Order 2009 (“the 2009 Order”).
2. The effect of the Order which will come into operation on 29th January 2024 is to-
(i) introduce a no stopping on school entrance markings restriction (school keep clear) between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday on the following lengths of road -
(a) Back Hillhead Parkway (Access Road leading to Knop Law Primary) - south east side, from Hillhead Parkway south westwards for 17.8 metres
(b) Back Hillhead Parkway (Access Road leading to Knop Law Primary) - south side, from Hillhead Road eastwards for 10 metres
(c) Beaconsfield Street - west side, from 15 metres south of Longley Street southwards for 81.12 metres
(d) Beaufront Gardens - north west side, from a point 58 metres south west of Bavington Drive south westwards for 25.56 metres
(e) Beaufront Gardens - both sides, from 101 metres south west of Bavington Drive south westwards for 12 metres.
(f) Benfield Road - east side, from 69 metres south of Cherrywood south eastwards for 71 metres.
(g) Benfield Road - west side, from 12 metres south east of Cherrywood south eastwards for 85 metres.
(h) Bishops Avenue - east side, from Tamworth Road southwards for 63.12 metres.
(i) Cherrywood - south side, from 7 metres east of Benfield Road eastwards for 155 metres.
(j) Harnham Gardens - both sides, from 131 metres south west of Bavington Drive south westwards for 11 metres.
(k) Hillhead Parkway - south west side, from 11 metres south east of Chadderton Drive south eastwards for 37 metres.
(l) Hillhead Parkway - south side, from 15.5 metres north west of Frenton Close north westwards for 55 metres.
(m) Hillhead Road - north west side, from 30 metres north of Greenway northwards for 51.1 metres
(n) Hillhead Road - south east side, from 42.2 metres south of Greenway northwards for 75.6 metres
(o) Hillhead Road - south east side, from 34 metres north of Greenway northwards for 41.8 metres
(p) Newton Road - west side, from the southern vehicular access to Jesmond Park Academy northwards for 57metres
(q) Newton Road west side, from the southern vehicular access to Jesmond Park Academy southwards for 26 metres.
(r) Newton Road - west side, from 22.5 metres south of the southern vehicular access to Jesmond Park Academy southwards for a distance of 32 metres.
(s) Newton Road - west side, from the northern vehicular access to Jesmond Park Academy northwards for 44 metres.
(t) Sycamore Avenue - south side, from 32.5 metres east of Ash Avenue eastwards for 44.2 metres.
(u) Tamworth Road - east side, from 10.8 metres south of Longley Street southwards for 43.56 metres.
(v) Unnamed Access Road to Dinnington First School - west side, from Sycamore Avenue southwards for 9 metres
(w) Unnamed Access Road to Dinnington First School - east side, from Sycamore Avenue southwards for 8 metres
(x) Westmorland Road - north side, from Blandford Court westwards for 69.1 metres.
(y) Westerhope Primary School Access Road - north side, from Hillhead Road eastwards for 9 metres.
(z) Westerhope Primary School Access Road - south side, from Hillhead Road eastwards for 10 metres
(aa) Wolveleigh Terrace - both sides, from Christon Road northwards for 87.1 metres.
(ii) to revoke the existing no stopping on school entrance markings restrictions on the following lengths of road -
(a) Hillhead Parkway - south side, from 31.7 metres south east of its southern junction with Chadderton Drive (the junction closest to No. 75 Hillhead Parkway) to 20 metres west of Frenton Close
(b) Hillhead Road - east side, from 20 metres north of Greenway north eastwards for 57 metres
(c) Hillhead Road - west side, from 20 metres north of Greenway north eastwards for of 57 metres
(d) Sycamore Avenue - south side, from 40 metres east of Ash Avenue eastwards for 35 metres.
3. 4. If you wish to question the validity of the above Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from 11th January 2024, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
