What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (BEACON HILL ROAD, NEWARK) (RESIDENTS’ PARKING ZONES AND RESIDENTS’ PARKING PLACES) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024 (3366)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council Has Made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Traffic Management Act 2004, as amended, and The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of Nottinghamshire) Designation Order 2008 (SI 2008 No. 1086), as amended, the effects of which will be, in respects of roads at Newark on Trent in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -

1. Proposed Residents’ Parking Scheme on Monday to Saturday between 8am and 7.30pm along the following length of road:

(i) BEACON HILL ROAD From a point 8 metres west of the centre line of its junction with The Gateway in a westerly direction to its junction with Wellington Road.

2. Lengths of road where a permit will be required to park on Mon to Sat between 8am and 7.30pm

(i) BEACON HILL ROAD (the north side)
From a point 26 metres east of the centre line of Wellington Road in an easterly direction to a point opposite a point 8 metres west of the centre line of its junction with The Gateway BEACON HILL ROAD (the south side)
(ii) From a point 15 metres east of the centre line of Eastern Terrace Lane in an easterly direction to a point 13 metres west of the centre line of Cross Street.
(iii) From a point 15 metres east of the centre line of Cross Street in an easterly direction to a point 8 metres west of the centre line of The Gateway. Relevant documents may be inspected at during opening hours: -

(a) The Nottinghamshire County Council, County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, NG2 7QP

(b) Newark Library, Beaumond Gardens, Baldertongate, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 1UW

THIS ORDER WILL COME INTO FORCE ON 22nd JANUARY 2024

The proposals would remove non-resident parking from Beacon Hill Road. The existing double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) would be unchanged by the proposed Residents’ Parking Scheme.
