Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Chester to enable water main works to be carried out by Severn Trent Water.

B5130 Sandy Lane, Dee Banks, Chester Road - Severn Trent Water are laying a new water pipe from Huntington Water Treatment Works to Boughton Water Treatment Works. The initial work involves several other utilities moving their existing services to make room for the new pipe.

The Order will come into force on 29th January 2024 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately eleven months to complete.

Alternative routes for through traffic - Traffic should proceed via Christleton Road, Tarvin Road, Boughton, City Road Gyratory, Boughton, Tarvin Road, Challinor Street, Christleton Road, Whitchurch Road, Sainsburys Roundabout, Whitchurch Road, Handley Bypass, Whitchurch Road, Broxton Roundabout, Broxton Road, Barnton Road, Sibbersfield Lane, Chester Road, Aldford Road and vice versa.
