What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U6957 Swainham Lane, Crowhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of  road;

Temporary Road Closure

Swainham Lane – the railway bridge.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 24 January 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 24 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3185 York Gardens, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow Harman Holdings Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

York Gardens – from the junction with A2101 Queens Road to the junction with U3329 Wellington Place.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 14 August 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 30 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C6950 Coldharbour Lane, Iden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Coldharbour Lane – from the junction with A268 Rye Road to Coldharbour Barn.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C6950 Coldharbour Lane, Church Lane – B2082 Main Street, Iden Road – A268 Rye Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 22 January 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 24 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3109 Caves Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will continue the closure on the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Caves Road – from no.1 to nos.1-2 Sussex Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3109 Caves Road – A259 Grosvenor Crescent, Marina - U3109 Sussex Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 January 2024 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice and a Temporary Successive Notice under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier, depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3186 Priory Road, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Priory Road – from the junction with U3201 St Thomas’s Road to the junction with U3205 Croft Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3186 Priory Road – U3234 Egremont Place – U3203 Bembrook Road, Collier Road – U3186 Priory Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 22 January 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 26 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C18 Brightling Road, Brightling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Brightling Road – from the junction with U6412 Brickyard Lane to the junction with C213 Willards Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Brightling Road, Rectory Hill, The Street, Long Reach – C603 Sheepshaw Lane – C212 Perrymans Lane, Kings Hill Road, School Hill – A265 High Street, Etchingham Road, Straight Mile, High Street – C213 Oxenbridge Lane, Ludpit Lane, Willards Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 19 January 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 19 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C21 Brede Lane, Sedlescombe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Brede Lane – from the junction with U6626 Hurst Lane to the junction with U6627 Reservoir Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C21 Brede Lane, Pottery Lane – A28 Cackle Street – B2089 Chitcombe Road, Tank Hill, Whorne Woods, Catts Green – B2165 Cripps Corner – B2244 Compasses, Hawkhurst Road, Sandrock Hill, The Street –  C21 Brede Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 25 January 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 25 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3206 George Street, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

George Street – its entire extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 4 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6958 Royal Oak Lane, Crowhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Royal Oak Lane – from the junction with C307 Ballards Hill to Hye House.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 6 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 9 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C293 Whatlington Road, Whatlington) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Whatlington Road – from the junction with U6307 Oakhurst Road to the junction with C292 Riccards Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C293 Whatlington Road – A21(T) Woodmans Green Road, Vinehall Road - A2100 London Road, High Street – C293 Mount Street, Caldbec Hill, Whatlington Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3107 St Vincents Road, St Leonards-On-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

St Vincents Road – from the junction with U3106 West Hill Road to the junction with C238 Filsham Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3106 West Hill Road –A259 Bexhill Road – C238 Filsham Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 6 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3124 Charles Road West, St Leonards-on-Sea) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Charles Road West – from the junction with C664 The Green to the junction with U3120 Clinton Crescent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3124 Charles Road West – U3123 Tower Road West – U3129 Dane Road – U3128 The Green – C664 The Green and vice versa.

The Order commences 7 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 9 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C93 Forewood Lane, Crowhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow NRE Services Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Forewood Lane – from the junction with C93 Crowhurst Road to the junction with P6661 Station Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C93 Forewood Lane, Telham Lane – A2100 Hastings Road, Battle Hill, Lower Lake – C27 Powdermill Lane – B2204 The Green – C664 The Green – C345 Church Road – C307 Crowhurst Road, Catsfield Road, Ballards Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 5 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6712 Camperdown Street/U6533 Cranston Rise/U6593 Pembury Grove/U6562 Westville Road/U6587 Newlands Avenue, Bexhill/ U6186 Heather Way/U6184 Knowle Road/U6184 Woodland Way, Fairlight)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Camperdown Street – from the junction with A269 Ninfield Road to the junction with P6647 Camperdown Street.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place on 8 and 9 and between 14 and 23 February 2024.

Cranston Rise – from the junction with U6533 Cranston Avenue to the junction with U6533 Walton Park.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place on 12 and 13 and between 21 and 27 February 2024.

Diversion via U6533 Cranston Avenue, Walton Park and vice versa.

Heather Way – for its entire length.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place on 5 and 6, 8 and 9 and 12 February 2024.

Knowle Road – for its entire length.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 5 and 9 February 2024.

Pembury Grove – from the junction with U6593 Bidwell Avenue to the junction with U6593 Dalehurst Road.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 14 and 20 February & 27 February and 11 March 2024.

Diversion via U6593 Bidwell Avenue – U6589 Gunters Lane – U6745 Woodsgate Park – U6583 Buxton Drive – U6593 Canada Way, St Lawrence Road, Dalehurst Road and vice versa.

Woodland Way – for its entire length.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 7 and 9 & 12 and 19 February 2024.

Westville Road – from the junction with U6562 Cranston Avenue to the junction with B2098 Collington Avenue.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 21 and 26 February & 4 and 13 March 2024.

Diversion via U6562 Cranston Avenue, Holmesdale Road – B2098 Collington Avenue and vice versa or via U6562 Cranston Avenue, Colebrooke Road – B2098 Collington Avenue and vice versa.

Newlands Avenue – for its entire length.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 27 February and 1 March & 11 and 21 March 2024.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 5 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed above depending upon the weather conditions.
