ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 17 NORTHBOUND EXIT AND ENTRY SLIP ROADS) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the Borough of Cheshire East, in the County of Cheshire, to enable slip road realignment works; to be carried out in safety.

The Order will impose restrictions and prohibitions on the following sections of the M6 Motorway:

i. impose a 50 mph speed limit on the northbound exit slip road at J17;

ii. ban all traffic from the northbound exit and entry slip roads at J17 (including the hard shoulder).

Restriction i. is expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 06:00 on Friday 2 February 2024 and ending at 18:00 on Wednesday 29 May 2024.

Prohibition ii. is expected to take place overnight between 20:00 and 06:00 (07:00 on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Friday 2 February 2024 and ending on Wednesday 29 May 2024.

However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods or between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M6 Motorway and local roads will be well signed for all traffic.

The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, traffic officer or winter maintenance vehicles. The restrictions and prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs.
