What is happening?

The Council of The London Borough of Redbridge The Redbridge (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2021 (Amendment No. 2) Order 2024

The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge, after consulting the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 6,49 and 121A and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers, on the 17th January 2024 made the above-mentioned Order, the effect of which will be to:

1. Implement Red Route controls on which stopping of vehicles is prohibited at all times including existing bus stops (except for local buses) in; (i) east side of Cranbrook Road; opposite No. 135 to 72 Cranbrook Road, between No. 68 Cranbrook Road to the junction with High Road (Ilford); (ii) west side of Cranbrook Road; between Nos. 115 to 127 and 87 Cranbrook Road, between Nos. 77 to 45 Cranbrook Road, between Nos. 35 to 27 Cranbrook Road, between Ilford Station and its junction with Ilford Hill; (iii) Ilford Hill, outside Nos. 83 and 85;

2. Install a goods vehicle loading bay operating 9am to 3pm and 7pm to 7am Monday to Sunday maximum stay 1 hour no return within 1-hour, outside Nos. 79 to 87 Cranbrook Road IG1;

3. Install a goods vehicle loading bay operating 10am to 2pm and 7pm to 7am Monday to Sunday maximum stay 30 minutes no return within 1 -hour, outside Nos. 68 to 72 Cranbrook Road IG1;

4. Install a goods vehicle loading bay operating 6am to 7.30am Thursdays only no maximum stay, outside Nos. 35 to 45 Cranbrook Road IG1;

5. Install a shared-use goods vehicle loading bay operating 6am to 6pm Monday to Sunday maximum stay 30 minutes no return within 1 -hour and taxis permitted to park at all other times, outside Nos. 25 and 27 Cranbrook Road IG1;

6. Provide areas within the red route where the stopping of vehicles is prohibited at all times except for buses in Cranbrook Road outside Nos. 5 to 19 and at the side of Nos. 1 to 15 Station Road;

7. Revoke the existing waiting and loading restrictions, no stopping except buses and loading bays in the lengths of road mentioned in sections 1 to 5 (inclusive of) of this notice;

8. To make admin-based changes to the Order (no changes to be made to site) to include articles that would assist in accommodating future red route exemptions for Disabled Persons, Taxis, Doctors and Solo Motorcycles;

9. A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 22nd January 2024, together with the Council's statement of reasons for making the Order, the map schedules and map schedule legend indicating the locations and the effects may be examined at the Customer Centre, Lynton House, 255 to 259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NY Monday to Friday (except on Bank Holidays).

10. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
