NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Various Roads in Weston Village, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 22 January 2024 - Ref: T23-73
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
This order was required because of block paving removal works and will become operative on 22 January 2024, anticipated to be of 6 days in duration between 8am and 5pm. These works will be carried out at the following locations: Worle Moor Road, Longridge Way (junction with Merton Drive), Longridge Way (junction with Stroud Way), and Bransby Way.
Schedule - Worle Moor Road from its junction with Howitt Way to its junction with Abbey Gardens. Longridge Way from its junction with Polestar Way to its junction with Merton Drive. Longridge Way from its junction with Compton Drive to its junction with Stroud Way. Bransby Way from its junction with Merton Drive to its junction with Old Mill Way.
Alternative routes - Worle Moor Road - Griffin Road, Longridge Way (part unaffected), Merton Drive, Bransby Way, Pollard Road, Old Mill Way, Worle Moor Road (part unaffected) and vice-versa. Longridge Way - Longridge Way (part unaffected), Griffen Road, Worle Moor Road, Old Mill Way, Pollard Road, Shrewsbury Bow, Bransby Way, Merton Drive, Longridge Way (part unaffected) and vice-versa. Bransby Way - Old Mill Way (part unaffected), Shrewsbury Bow, Bransby Way (part unaffected) and vice-versa.
Wood Hill, Congresbury, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 4 March 2024 - Ref: T23-72
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this notice.
This order is required because of highway improvement works and will become operative on 4 March 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. It is anticipated the closure will be for a period of approximately 13 weeks.
Schedule - Wood Hill, Congresbury from its junction with the Bristol Road A370 opposite Wrington Road to its junction with the drive of Rhodyate House.
Alternative route for all vehicles - Wood Hill, B3133 Smallway, A370 Bristol Road into A370 Rhodyate Hill and vice-versa.
Langford Road, Langford, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order
Date coming into force: 5 February 2024 - Ref: T24-02
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this notice.
This order is required to complete highway maintenance and drainage works and will become operative 5 February 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which are anticipated be of 10 days in duration.
Schedule - Langford Road, Langford from property called The Forge to its junction with Bypass (A38).
Alternative routes - Langford Road, Lower Langford Bypass and vice-versa.
Newtons Road, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 13 March 2024 - Ref: SW23.24-327
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace fire hydrant. This will become operative on the 13 March 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 11 March 2024 - Ref: SW23.24-330
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to install 12m of new water main. This will become operative on the 11 March 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 12 February 2024 - Ref: T24-04
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of work being executed on and near the road by North Somerset Council to construct Banwell Bypass including associated investigations, surveys, diversions, and other enabling works. North Somerset Council are satisfied that the execution of the works in question will take 30 months. This will become operative on the 12 February 2024 for a maximum period of 30 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule - Riverside from a point 200m north of the junction with Moor Road to a point 750m north of the junction with Moor Road.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which:
Wolvershill Road, Banwell, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 5 February 2024 - Ref: SW23.24-287
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bedrock Civil Engineering Ltd to connect new storm water drainage. This will become operative on the 5 February 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 19 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Bleadon Road, Bleadon, North Somerset
Temporary One-Way Restriction Order 2024
Date coming into force: 18 January 2024 - Ref: SW23.24-298
Will be to temporarily restrict vehicles to proceeding in a one-way direction in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services.
This order was required in the interests of public and traffic safety consequent upon nearby development and utility connection works by Ashgrove Groundworks and Edenstone Group. This will become operative on the 18 January 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the restriction may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of approximately 9 weeks in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 4 February 2024 - Ref: SW23.24-261
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace a pole. This will become operative on the 4 February 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 8am and 4pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force. Access maintained.

Notice of Intention to Republish the Register of Electors North Somerset Council
In accordance with the Representation of the People Act 1983 and the Representation of the People (England and Wales) Regulations 2001 notice is hereby given of the council's intention to publish a revised register of electors on 1 February 2024. Electors registered in the area do not need to take any action as a result of this notice. The revised Register will incorporate all of the changes to polling districts and polling places, which were approved by North Somerset Council in November 2023. Reserved Bus Lanes Order 2024 - Ref: BSIP/WH/2024/1
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council proposes to make an Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Traffic Management Act 2004, as amended, the effect of which will be to implement a section of bus lane on the A370 eastbound approach to Bristol Road, Congresbury. The bus lanes will be in the vicinity of Bristol Road, Congresbury and Rhodyate Hill, Congresbury's junction with Wood Hill and Wrington Road as described by the Schedule to this notice. The bus lanes will be for use by buses, hackney carriages, motorcycles, and pedal cycles only. The changes are intended to reduce bus journey times and improve reliability for buses, supporting the council's Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP). Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 81, 82(2), 83(2), 84(1) and (2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter referred to as "the Act of 1984") and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, proposes to make an Order, the effect of which will be to implement changes to the speed limits on the A370 in the Congresbury area. The changes will be on the A370 on Rhodyate Hill, Bristol Road, Station Road and Weston Road as described by the Schedules to this notice. The changes are intended to improve the safety of the general public in the Congresbury area.
