What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF SLOUGH WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING
PLACES (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2017 (AMENDMENT No. 33) ORDER 2024 (Order 5 of 2024) (“Proposed Order”)
Sections 1, 45, 46 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 7 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 as amended.
1. SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under sections
1, 45, 46 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers.
2. If the Proposed Order comes into effect, a new “K1” parking zone would be created covering parts of Mill Street, parts of Petersfield Avenue, all of Benson Close and all of Whitenham Close – see the zone area plan in the supplied link. In addition, the Proposed Order also: -
(a) Amends restrictions on Albion Close, Benson Close, Mill Street, Petersfield Avenue, St. Pauls Avenue, Stoke Road and Whitenham Close.
(b) Creates limited waiting bays on St. Paul’s Avenue and Stoke Road.
(c) Creates pay by phone bays on Albion Close and Petersfield Avenue.
(d) Creates permit holders only bays partly on the footway on Petersfield Avenue.
(e) Creates shared use permit only or limited waiting bays Monday – Saturday 8am to 7pm and permit holders only outside these hours including Sunday on Whitenham Close.
3. Properties eligible for the issue of permits are set out in the Schedule below.

4. There would be a limit of two residents permits per household for all properties listed in the schedule above, with a third permit only being issued under exceptional circumstances.
5. Each eligible property within the zone would be given an allowance of 720 visitor parking hours to purchase over a 12-month period.
6. The Proposed Order shall come into operation if and on the date that the Council publishes a notice stating that the Proposed Order has been made.
7. Copies of the Proposed Order, this notice and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at the Council’s offices during normal working hours (excluding bank holidays and public holidays).
