A580 East Lancashire Road and Mosley Common Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days the Salford City Council A580 East Lancashire Road (eastbound and westbound carriageway) and Mosley Common Road (northbound and southbound carriageway).
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will close A580 East Lancashire Road and Mosley Common Road at night time. The Shift schedule will be as follows; Shift 1 - closure to A580 eastbound carriageway and Mosley Common Rd (northbound carriageway) Shift 2 - closure to A580 westbound carriageway and Mosley Common Rd (southbound carriageway) Shift 3 - closure to A580 eastbound carriageway and Mosley Common Rd (northbound carriageway) Shift 4 - closure to A580 westbound carriageway and Mosley Common Rd southbound carriageway) Shift 5 - closure to A580 westbound carriageway and Mosley Common Rd (southbound carriageway). Diversion routes signed locally will as follows;
A580 Eastbound carriageway and Mosley Common Road (northbound carriageway); A572 Chaddock Lane - A5082 Church Road - Hen Fold Road - A577 Sale Lane - Mosley Common Road - B5232 Bridgewater Road - Newearth Road - A580 East Lancashire Road. A580 East Lancashire Road Westbound carriageway; Ellenbrook Road - A572 Leigh Road - A572 Simpson Road - A572 Chaddock Lane - A580 East Lancashire Road.
Mosley Common Road; (southbound carriageway) B5232 Newearth Road - B5232 Bridgewater Road - Mosley Common Road The order is required to allow carriageway resurfacing and line marking operations to be completed as part of the junction upgrade scheme.
The Order is due to come into operation on the 12 February 2024 and shall contuniue in force for a period of 3 weeks provided that if the council determines that the order is no longer necessary in relation to the works then this order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period
