What is happening?

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The City of Peterborough Witham Way to Fulbridge Road Footpath, Paston, Peterborough, Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2024 Ref: 24-366
The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Witham Way to Fulbridge Road Footpath, Paston as lies between Witham Way and Fulbridge Road. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order is via: Fulbridge Rd, Hallfields Lane, Paston Ridings, Witham Way and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into operation on the 22/01/2024 and will continue until the gas mains replacement works have been completed or until the 21/07/2024, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 22/01/2024 and the 09/02/2024. The City of Peterborough Cuckoos Hollow Footbridges, Skaters Way Fenbridge Road and Fulbridge Footpath, Werrington, Peterborough, Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2024 Ref: 24-390
To extend the previous notice, the effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footbridges known as Cuckoos Hollow 1, Cuckoos Hollow 2 and Baron Court Footbridge, which lie within Cuckoos Hollow, Skaters Way Fenbridge Road and Fulbridge Footpath as lies between Skaters Way and Wisteria Way. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order will be signed locally on site. The proposed Order will come into operation on the 08/01/2024 and will continue until the bridge deterioration repair and new installation works have been completed or until the 08/10/2024, whichever is the earlier.
