Irwell Road - Temporary Road Closure

What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days the Salford City Council ( Irwell Road, Salford) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will close the northbound carriageway on Irwell Street, allowing northbound traffic to use the southbound lane. Southbound traffic will be diverted along Trinity Way. The closure is required as AE Yates Ltd are carrying major alterations as part of the Irwell Street Scheme. The scheme includes the construction of cycle lanes which will be reducing Irwell Street to a single lane northbound providing enhanced public realm features around the EDEN Development. The Order is due to come into operation on the 12 February 2024 and will last for a period of 10 weeks. 

A copy of the Order and a plan of the area may be examined at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm to Fri inclusive. Trinity Way Southbound Traffic:
Trinity Way - A57 Dawson Street - Egerton Street - A56 Chester Road - Bridgewater Viaduct - Deansgate - Quay Street.
Traffic on Trinity Way wanting to turn right onto Irwell Street:
Northbound on Trinity Way - Right onto A6 Chapel Street - Right onto A34 New Bailey Street - A34 Bridge Street - Right onto Deansgate.
