(Prohibition of Waiting, Stopping and On Street Parking, Pay & Display) Traffic Regulation Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Derbyshire County Council proposes to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be, in respects of roads in Buxton, High Peak is as follows:
TO PROHIBIT WAITING AT ANY TIME OF VEHICLES - (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING):
The Crescent, Buxton (north-west side)
From a point 55 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
From a point 17 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 22.5 metres.
From a point 53 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 3 metres.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or duties or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply.
TO PROHIBIT STOPPING AT ANY TIME OF VEHICLES:

From a point 74 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction, to a point 64 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant.
The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
From a point 78 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, to a point 64 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant.
TO DESIGNATE PAY AND DISPLAY, EXCEPT PERMIT HOLDERS, 8.00AM TO 6.00PM, MAXIMUM STAY 2 HOURS, NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR:

From a point 28 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 22 metres.
The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
From a point 30 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 22 metres.
Scale of Charges: 30 minutes – 40p, 1 Hour – 70p, 2 Hours - £1.20 and Up to 4 Hours - £2.50.
TO DESIGNATE DISABLED BADGE HOLDER ONLY PARKING PLACE, 8.00AM TO 8.00PM:
The Crescent, Buxton (north-west side)
From a point 14 metres south-west of its junction with the Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
From a point 45 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.

From a point 14 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked and the lengths of road referred to in the remaining Order items will be amended accordingly.
TO REVOKE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS FROM THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2016:

The Crescent, Buxton (north side)
On the north-west side of the fountain from a point 94 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 41 metres.
PAY AND DISPLAY 8AM-6PM MAX STAY 2 HOURS NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR EXCEPT FOR PERMIT HOLDERS
The Crescent, Buxton (north-west side)
From a point 63 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a north-westerly and then south-westerly direction for 95 metres.
The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
On the south-east side of the fountain null.
DISABLED BADGE HOLDERS ONLY 8AM-8PM

From a point 107 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north easterly direction for 12 metres.
MOTORCYCLE PARKING, 8.00AM – 8.00PM

From a point 57 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction for 10 metres.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock during opening hours and on request by emailing place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk until 6 weeks after the Order is made and at Buxton Library, Kents Bank Road, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 9HW during opening hours.
All objections and other representations to the proposal must (a) be made in writing (b) state the grounds on which they are made (c) provide a name and address for contact purposes (d) be sent to the Executive Director – Place, Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock DE4 3AG (For Attention of Traffic and Safety Team quoting reference Z3334) or email place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk by Friday 9th February 2024.
