THE OLDHAM - STAMFORD ROAD & DUNHAM STREET LEES & 20MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER, PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN AND PROHIBITION OF ENTRY ORDER 2024 & SPEED CUSHIONS

The Oldham Borough Council hereby give notice that they propose to make the above mentioned Order under Section 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to
20 MPH impose a speed limit of 20 miles per hour on Stamford Road for its whole length and on St John Street from Stamford Road up to and including its junction with Beckett Street
On Huddersfield Road Lees at its junction with Dunham Street prohibit a right turn into Dunham Street Introduce a prohibition of entry for easterly bound traffic from Dunham Street into Huddersfield Road Remove the waiting restrictions on both sides of Huddersfield Road 7 metres east of Culvert Street to a point 64 metres south east of Dunham Street
Prohibit waiting at all times on the north east side of Huddersfield Road 7 metres east of Culvert Street to 64 metres south east of Dunham Street and on the south west side 7 metres east of Culvert Street to 54 metres south east of Dunham Street and on the south side of Dunham Street from Stamford Road to Huddersfield Road and the north side of Dunham Street from Stamford Road for 5 metres easterly and on the north side of Dunham Street from Huddersfield Road for 7 metres westerly and on the west side of Stamford Road from Dunham Street for 15 metres southerly
Notice is hereby given that the Oldham Borough Council in exercise of its powers under the Highways Act 1980, Part V, Section 90A (1) as part of a traffic calming scheme propose to construct road humps of a type, dimension and at the locations referred to in the Schedule below.

A copy of the proposed Order, a statement of the council’s reasons for proposing it and a map indicating its location and effect, may be inspected at the offices of the Solicitor to the Council, Civic Reception, Civic Centre, West Street, Oldham between the hours of 8.40am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Objections and other representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds on which they are made to env.traffic@oldham.gov.uk or the Environment Group Solicitor, Civic Centre, West Street, Oldham, OL1 1UL by 14TH February 2024. Any such documents received may be made available for public inspection.
