What is happening?

A1305 RIVERSIDE, STOCKTON TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 15th January 2024, the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said road should be prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be carried out on or near the road.
The effect of the Order, which came into effect on 15th January 2024, is to bring into operation a number of restrictions on A1305 Riverside and Tower Street, Stockton (to temporarily close lengths of those roads, and to implement a temporary 20mph speed limit, right turn prohibition, clearway, U-turn prohibition, one-way operation and 2 metre lane width restriction along parts of those roads). More details of the lengths of roads affected by each restriction can be seen on the draft Order and map on the Council’s website (Traffic Orders). It is expected that works will be carried out between approximately 15th January 2024 and 28th March 2025. The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The Police and emergency services will be informed of the closures prior to the works commencing. Access for pedestrians and emergency services will be maintained.
Bus services will be affected.
