THE LEICESTER (GRANBY STREET) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:
Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Granby Street between its junctions with Dover Street and with Chatham Street from 12.00am on Monday 22nd January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 31st March 2024.
Diversion route: Dover Street, Albion Street, Chatham Street.
Prohibit the movement of cyclists in an inbound direction on Granby Street at its junction with St Georges Way from 12.00am on Monday 22nd January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 31st March 2024.
Diversion route: St Georges Way, Charles Street, Rutland Street.
Prohibit the movement of cyclists in an outbound direction on Granby Street between its junctions with Chatham Street and its junction with Dover Street from 12.00am on Monday 22nd January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 31st March 2024.
Diversion route: Chatham Street, Albion Street, Dover Street, Calais Street, Calais Hill.
Introduce temporary loading bay (7.30am to 6.00pm each day) on Dover Street (east side) between a point 10 metres south of its junction with Granby Street and a point 20 metres south thereof from 12.00am on Monday 22nd January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 31st March 2024.
Introduce temporary loading bay (7.30am to 6.00pm each day) on Chatham Street (east side) between a point 10 metres south of its junction with Granby Street and a point 20 metres south thereof from 12.00am on Monday 22nd January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 31st March 2024.
The Order will come into effect on the 22nd January 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.
This order is made to facilitate highway improvement works taking place and to prevent the likeliness of danger to the public.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
