A36 Trunk Road - Prohibition Of Traffic For Resurfacing & Associated Maintenance Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a)
THE A36 TRUNK ROAD (SERRINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A36 trunk road in the County of Wiltshire to allow resurfacing and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place overnight (20.00 to 06.00) and on two weekends (Friday 20.00 to Monday 06.00) commencing on or after 2 February 2024 and be completed by 21 February 2024.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of:

(a) the A36 northbound and southbound between 4150 metres south of Deptford Junction and 150 metres north of the junction with West Street in Stoford;

(b) the laybys adjacent to the A36 between Deptford Junction and Wilton Roundabout.

During the closure described above traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A36 and local roads.

Access to and from premises that are accessible from and only from the A36 would be maintained during the works.

The closures (which would not apply to emergency services or works vehicles), and diversion route would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order would come into force on 31 January 2024 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
