Gateshead - Road Closure to Enable Carriageway Resurfacing Works to Take Place

What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(VARIOUS ROADS, GATESHEAD - ANNUAL RESURFACING)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER (NO.7) 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead
proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily
prohibit vehicles along the lengths of road listed in the Schedule
below. The Order is required to enable carriageway resurfacing
works to take place. It is proposed that the Order will come into
force on 29 January 2024. The maximum duration of the Order will
be 18 months, however the works are expected to be completed
by the 31 March 2025. In advance of the works being carried out,
each section of affected road will display advisory traffic signs.
All vehicles (except for vehicles involved in the works and
emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from the
roads described in the Schedule below during the works and until
the works are completed as indicated by the display of traffic signs.
During the prohibitions, wherever practicable, there will be a signed
diversion in place.

from its junction with King Edward Road for its entire length

from its junction with Whitehill Drive in a north easterly direction for a distance of 140 metres

Widdrington Road, Blaydon

from its junction with Blaydon Bank in a south easterly direction for its entire length

Loup Street, Blaydon

from its junction with Blaydon Bank in a south easterly direction for its entire length

Murrey Street, Blaydon

from its junction with Blaydon Bank in a south easterly direction for its entire length

Ann Street, Blaydon

from the junction with Blaydon Bank in a south easterly direction for its entire length

Lead Road, Greenside

from the traffic light controlled junction with Stargate Lane in a westerly direction for a distance of 950 metres

Stargate Lane, Ryton

from its roundabout junction with the A695 Ryton Crawcrook bypass to the traffic signal junction with Lead Road for its entire length
