What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE DISTRICT OF CARLISLE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Fibrus to carry out utility works ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:

1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

2. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and and/or from loading and unloading at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of Front Street, Brampton (both sides) from its junction with High Cross Street to its junction with Low Cross Street.

Duration: From 11 March 2024 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROC/9553)

3. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a westerly direction along that section of Front Street, Brampton from its junction with High Cross Street to its junction with Low Cross Street.

A suitable alternative route for East Bound Vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of Front Street, A6071 Main Street and High Cross Street.

Duration: From 11 March 2024 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROC/9552)

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii) Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

(iv) Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 30 January 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated above and in the schedule, and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U1292 Hawksdale, Near Dalston - From 30 January 2024 for approx. 2 days

(Ref: TTROC/9453)

From its junction with the C2049, extending in an easterly then northerly direction for approx. 960m. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

2. Blackhall Wood Way, Durdar - From 1 February 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROC/9455)

From its junction with the C1014, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 700m. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

3. C1017 Gaitsgill - From 4 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9458)

From its junction with the C1036, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.16km. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1037, Newbiggin Road and the C1036.

4. U1124 and U1125 Moorhouse - From 5 February 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROC/9557)

(i) U1124 from its junction with the B5307 to its junction with the U1125; and

(ii) U1125 from its junction with the U1124 to its junction with the C1012. Alternative Route: via the C1012 and the B5307.

5. U1211 Kirkhouse - From 5 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9549) From its junction with the C1032 to its junction with the C1031.

Alternative Route: via the C1031, A689 and the C1032.

6. U2014 and U2018 Oughterby - From 8 February 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROC/9556)

(i) U2014 from its junction with the U2012, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 580m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2014, U2015, U2013 and the U2012.

(ii) U2018 from its junction with the U2014, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 100m.

(iii) U2018 from its junction with the U2014, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 260m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles during the restrictions detailed at 6(ii) and 6(iii).

7. C1031 Farlam - From 8 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9550) From its junction with the U1208 to its junction with the C1032.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1031, U1220, C1032, U1207 and the U1208.

8. U1148 Dalston - From 15 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9503)

From its junction with the C1014, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 350m. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1148 and the C1014.

9. U1153 Durdar - From 18 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9504) From its junction with the U1152 to its junction with the C1036.

Alternative Route: via the U1152 and the U1154.

10. C2048 Hawksdale - From 26 February 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROC/9524)

From its junction with the B5299, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 500m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2048 and the B5299.

11. Lingy Close Road - From 29 February 2024 for approx. 1 week

(Ref: TTROC/9525)

From its junction with Dalston Road, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.2km.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

12. U1050 West Hall, near Brampton - From 16 March 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROC/9434)

From its junction with the B6318, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 600m. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1050, C1028 and the B6318.

13. U1050 West Hall, near Brampton - From 19 March 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROC/9435)

From its junction with the C1028, extending in an overall north westerly direction for approx. 2km. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1050, C1025 and the C1028.

14. U1049 West Hall, near Brampton - From 22 March 2024 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROC/9432)

From its junction with the B6318, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 300m. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

15. U1241 Gisland - From 25 March 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/9437)

From a point approx.250m west of its junction with the UI242, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 400m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1241.
