The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No.1) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 08 January 2024 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
- The general effect of the Orders would be to:
- Designate new parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.
Belmont Road, South Norwood |
Outside No. 45 and partially across the frontage of No. 47 |
Limes Road, Croydon |
Outside No. 13 and partially across the frontage of No. 15 (replaces one permit/payment parking bay). |
Nova Road, Croydon |
Outside No. 18 and partially across the frontages of Nos. 16 & 20 (replaces one space in a permit/payment bay) |
- Amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.
- Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 15 January 2024 and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further informationcan be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.
3. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

PROPOSED introduction of WAITING RESTRICTIONS in VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN Croydon

The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No. F44) Order 20-
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the Orders would be:
- To introduce "at any time" double yellow line waiting restrictions in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.
- To introduce single yellow line waiting restrictions in the length of street specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
- To update the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new arrangements as they exist on site.
3. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, or the Council decides not to make the Orders, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.
4. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Design Team, Place Department, Croydon Council, Floor 6 Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA or email Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference PD/CH/F43 & F44 by 01 February 2024.
5. The Order is intended to introduce new or amend existing waiting restrictions at various locations. The waiting restrictions are intended to address all or some of the following situations: improve safety by providing increased visibility, especially at junctions and on bends; prevent obstructive parking so that turning vehicles have sufficient manoeuvrability and improve access for all road users, especially pedestrians, cyclists, emergency, and public service vehicles.

Aragon Close, New Addington
- The north-western extremity of the road – the entire turning area outside Nos. 8 and 9 Aragon Close.
- The north-west side, between its junction with the north-west south-east arm of Aragon Close (fronting property Nos. 1 to 9) and its junction with Warbank Crescent.
- The south-east side, from its junction with the north-west to south-east arm of Warbank Crescent (fronting property Nos. 31 to 149) north-eastwards for 8 metres.
Ashen Vale, South Croydon
The south-west side, extending the existing restrictions at the junction with Addington Road south-eastwards by 10 metres.
Auckland Road, South Norwood
The north-west side, from its junction with Fox Hill south-westwards for 7 metres.
Beulah Hill access road (fronting property Nos. 60 to 68a Beulah Hill), Upper Norwood
- Both sides, from its north-westernmost junction with Beulah Hill to a point 3 metres south-east of the north-western kerb-line of the grass verge/island site opposite Nos. 60 to 68a, Beulah Hill.
- The north-east side, from a point 5 metres north-west of the vehicular entrance to Stonebridge Mews to a point 5 metres south-east of that entrance.
Beulah Hill, Upper Norwood
The north-east side, for 10 metres either side of the north-westernmost junction with Beulah Hill access road (fronting property Nos. 60 to 68a Beulah Hill).
Copperfield Close, South Croydon
Both sides, from its junction with Purley Downs Road south-westwards for 15 metres.
Crowley Crescent, Croydon
Both sides, from its junction with Goodwin Road to the common boundary of Nos. 8 and 10 Crowley Crescent.
Dickenson’s Lane, South Norwood
Both sides, from its junction with Woodside Green north-westwards for 6.7 metres.
Fox Hill, Upper Norwood
- The south-west side, from a point 1 metre south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 46 and 48 Fox Hill, to a point 23 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Auckland Road.
- The south-west side, from its junction with Auckland Road north-westwards for 5 metres.
Goodenough Way, Coulsdon
The south-east side, covering the entire length of the grass verge outside Nos. 97 and 99 Goodenough Way.
Goodwin Road, Croydon
The west side, from a point 10 metres north of its junction with Crowley Crescent to a point 11.5 metres south of that junction.
Goston Gardens, Thornton Heath
The north-west to south-east arm (extending between Warwick Road and the flank walls of Nos. 43 and 64 Goston Gardens).
- Both sides, from its junction with Warwick Road south-eastwards for 7 metres.
- Both sides, from its junction with the north-east to south-west arm of Goston Gardens (fronting property Nos. 29 to 46) north-westwards for 10 metres.

Haydn Avenue, Purley
Both sides, from a point 5 metres south-east of the south-eastern boundary of the vehicular access road to Nos. 12 and 12a Haydn Avenue, north-westwards for 12 metres.
Hayes Lane, Kenley
- The west side, extending the existing restrictions at the junction with Steyning Close so that they finish at the pedestrian crossing zig-zags.
- The east side, from the pedestrian crossing zig-zags to the common boundary of Nos. 81 and 83 Hayes Lane.
Hillcote Avenue, Norbury
The north-west side, extending the existing restrictions at the junction with Groveland Avenue so that they finish at the common boundary of Nos. 5 and 7 Hillcote Avenue.
Markfield, Court Wood Lane, Croydon
- The north-east side, from the northern end of the existing yellow lines surrounding the roundabout at the southern end of Markfield, Court Wood Lane, to a point 15.5 metres north of the junction with the north-east to south-west arm of Markfield (fronting property Nos. 164 to 192 Markfield).
- The north-east to south-west arm of Markfield (fronting property Nos. 164 to 192 Markfield), the south-east side, from its junction with the north to south arm of Markfield north-eastwards for 44 metres.
- The north-east to south-west arm of Markfield (fronting property Nos. 164 to 192 Markfield), the north-west side, from its junction with the north to south arm of Markfield north-eastwards for 15 metres.
Mitcham Road, Croydon

- The north side, from its junction with Woodmere Avenue to its junction with The Glade.
- The island site at the junction of Orchard Avenue with Woodmere Avenue and The Glade – the entire perimeter of the island.
Purley Downs Road, South Croydon
The south-west side, from a point 17.5 metres north-west of its junction with Copperfield Close to a point 12.5 metres south-east of that junction.
Rochford Way, Croydon
Both sides, from its junction with Mitcham Road south-westwards for 10 metres.
Russell Hill, (the north to south arm fronting property Nos. 17 to 31 Russell Hill), Purley
The west side, extending the existing restrictions outside No. 31 Russell Hill southwards by 15 metres.
Steyning Close, Kenley
The south side, extending the existing restrictions at the junction with Hayes Lane by 5 metres westwards.
Warbank Crescent, New Addington
- The north-east to south-west arm (fronting property Nos. 1 to 29a), the north-west side, between its junction with Aragon Close and a point 3.5 metres south-west of the vehicular entrance to No. 29a Warbank Close.
- The north-west to south-east arm (fronting property Nos. 31 to 149), the north-east side, from its junction with Aragon Close south-eastwards for 8 metres.
- The north-west to south-east arm (fronting property Nos. 31 to 149), both sides, from a point 5 metres north-west of the access road between Nos. 31 to 49 and Nos. 51 to 69, Warbank Crescent, , to a point 5 metres south-east of that access road.
- The access road between Nos. 31 to 49 and Nos. 51 to 69, Warbank Crescent, the entire length, both sides.

The north-east side, from a point 2 metres north-west of the south-eastern boundary of Nos. 5 and 6 The Close, Birchanger Road, north-westwards for 11.5 metres.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER
PLAY STREET CLOSURES – DIXON ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD
1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they intend to make a Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to close part of Dixon Road, South Norwood, to vehicular traffic at the times and on the dates specified in the Schedule to this notice, to facilitate a play street.
2. During the dates and times specified in the Schedule to this notice no person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed in Dixon Road, between its junctions with Whitehorse Lane and Elm Park Road.
3. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for residents, or pedestrians accessing any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.
4. Nothing in the Order shall apply:
a) To anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
b) To any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
5. Whilst the closure is in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Whitehorse Lane, Nugent Road, Elm Park Road, Dixon Road, Oliver Avenue, Whitworth Road and vice versa.
6. The Order will come into effect on 28 January 2024 and will be reintroduced at the times and on the dates specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
