What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MARTYR CLOSE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Martyr Close, St Albans from its junction with Creighton Avenue south westwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out.

However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN BRICKET WOOD, ST ALBANS, SANDRIDGE AND HARPENDEN) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Brightview Close, Bricket Wood from its junction with Old Watford Road south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Old Watford Road, Bricket Wood from its junction with Oakwood Road south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 270m.

An alternative route will be via Oakwood Road, Reynards Lane, Short Lane, Jenkins Avenue, Broad Acre and Old Watford Road.

3. that length of Grove Road, St Albans from its northernmost junction with A5183 Holywell Hill south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 201m. An alternative route will be via A5183 Holywell Hill.

4. that length of Jennings Road, St Albans from its junction with Clarence Road south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Granville Road, St Albans from its junction with B691 Stanhope Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A1057 Hatfield Road, a distance of approximately 237m.

An alternative route will be via B691 (Stanhope Road/Victoria Street), A1081 St Peters Street and A1057 Hatfield Road.

6. that length of B691 Stanhope Road, St Albans from its junction with B691 Victoria Street north eastwards to its junction with Camp Road, a distance of approximately 276m.

An alternative route will be via B691 Victoria Street, A1081 St Peters Street, A1057 Hatfield Road and Camp Road.

7. that length of A1057 Hatfield Road, St Albans from its junction with Granville Road south eastwards to its junction with Camp Road, a distance of approximately 113m. An alternative route will be via A1057 Hatfield Road, A1081 St Peters Street, A5183 (Holywell Hill/St Stephens Hill/Watling Street), A414 North Orbital Road, A1001 Comet Way and A1057 (St Albans Road/Hatfield Road).

8. that length of Camp View Road/Sutton Road, St Albans from its junction with Camp Road north eastwards to its junction with Campfield Road, a distance of approximately 268m.

An alternative route will be via Camp Road, Roland Street and Campfield Road.

9. that length of Cambridge Road, St Albans from its junction with Sutton Road south eastwards to its junction with Ely Road, a distance of approximately 48m.

An alternative route will be via Sutton Road, Hedley Road, Maxwell Road and Cambridge Road.

10. that length of Camp Road, St Albans from its junction with Roland Street north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 61m.

An alternative route will be via Camp Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Ashley Road and Camp Road.

11. that length of King Harry Lane, St Albans from its junction with the A4147 Bluehouse Hill/A4147 Hemel Hempstead Road roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the Mortimer Crescent roundabout, a distance of approximately 677m.

An alternative route will be via A4147 Bluehouse Hill, A5183 (Redbourn Road/Folly Lane/ Verulam Road/High Street/Holywell Hill/St Stephens Hill) and King Harry Lane.

12. that length of Flint Way/Toulmin Drive, St Albans from its junction with High Oaks south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Woollam Crescent, a distance of approximately 224m.

An alternative route will be via High Oaks and Woollam Crescent.

13. that length of High Oaks, St Albans from a point 110 m north west of its junction with Carnegie Road north westwards to its junction with Sparrowswick Ride, a distance of approximately 259m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

14. that length of B651 High Street, Sandridge from its junction with Highfield Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 827m.

An alternative route will be via B651 (St Albans Road/Sandridge Road), A1081 (St Peters Street/Harpenden Road/St Albans Road), B652 Station Road, B653 Lower Luton Road and B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/Wheathampstead Road/High Street).

15. that length of Langley Grove, Sandridge from its junction with B651 High Street south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

16. that length of Spencer Place, Sandridge from its junction with B651 High Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 55m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

17. that length of Church End, Sandridge from its junction with B651 High Street north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

18. that length of Sandridgebury Lane, St Albans from its junction with B651 High Street north westwards for a distance of approximately 83m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

19. that length of A414 North Orbital Road, St Albans from its junction with the A5183 Watling Street roundabout south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 1837m.

An alternative route will be via A5183 (Watling Street/St Stephens Hill/Holywell Hill), A1081 London Road and A414 North Orbital Road.

20. the B5378 eastbound slip road leading onto B5378 Napsbury Lane, St Albans from its junction with A414 North Orbital Road north eastwards to its junction with B5378 Napsbury Lane, a distance of approximately 110m.

An alternative route will be via A5183 (Watling Street/St Stephens Hill/Holywell Hill), A1081 London Road, A414 North Orbital Road and B5378 Shenley Lane.

21. that length of B5378 (Napsbury Lane/Shenley Lane), St Albans from its junction with the B5378 eastbound slip road leading onto B5378 Napsbury Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 470m.

An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road, the A414 London Colney roundabout, A414 North Orbital Road and B5378 Shenley Lane.

22. that length of Flora Grove, St Albans from its junction with Grimston Road south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

23. that length of Lemsford Road, St Albans from its junction with A1057 Hatfield Road north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Sandpit Lane, a distance of approximately 563m.

An alternative route will be via A1057 Hatfield Road, A1081 St Peters Street, B651 Stonecross and Sandpit Lane or via A1057 Hatfield Road, Beechwood Avenue and Sandpit Lane.

24. that length of Sandpit Lane, St Albans from its junction with Walton Street north eastwards to its easternmost junction with Gurney Court Road, a distance of approximately 487m.

An alternative route will be via Sandpit Lane, B651 Stonecross, A1081 St Peters Street, A1057 Hatfield Road, Beechwood Avenue and Sandpit Lane.

25. that length of St Vincent Drive, St Albans from its junction with A1081 London Road north eastwards to its junction with Cell Barnes Lane, a distance of approximately 497m.

An alternative route will be via A1081 London Road, Drakes Drive and Cell Barnes Lane.

26. the service road leading to 'Shelley Court', Harpenden from its northernmost junction with Milton Road south westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards, south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via Milton Road.

27. that length of Everard Close, St Albans from its junction with Griffiths Way north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

28. that length of Griffiths Way, St Albans from its junction with the A5183 St Stephens Hill/A5183 Holywell Hill roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Wilshire Avenue, a distance of approximately 180m.

An alternative route will be via A5183 St Stephens Hill/Watling Street), Vesta Avenue and Wilshere Avenue.

29. that length of Pageant Road, St Albans from its junction with Keyfield Terrace north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

30. that length of Keyfield Terrace, St Albans from its junction with Old London Road north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B462 Watford Road, Aldenham from its junction with Hawtrees north eastwards to its junction with Abbey View, a distance of approximately 164m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via B462 (Radlett Road/Hartspring Lane), A41 (Elton Way/ Tylers Way), A411 (Elstree Road/Watford Road), A5183 (High Street/Elstree Hill North/ Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street), Park Road and B462 (Aldenham Road/ Watford Road).

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN CHISWELL GREEN, BRICKET WOOD AND ABBOTS LANGLEY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of A405 North Orbital Road, Chiswell Green from its junction with the B4630 Watford Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with the M25 (junction 21a) roundabout, a distance of approximately 682m.

An alternative route will be via A405 North Orbital Road, A414 (unnamed road/ Breakspear Way/St Albans Road/Two Waters Way), A41 (Two Waters Way/unnamed road/ Watford Road/Hempstead Road/North Western Avenue) and A405 (North Orbital Road/ St Albans Road/North Orbital Road) or via A405 North Orbital Rd, A414 North Orbital Rd, A1081 London Colney Bypass and the M25.

2. that length of Lye Lane, Bricket Wood from its junction with A405 North Orbital Road south eastwards to its junction with The Laurels, a distance of approximately 485m. An alternative route will be via A405 North Orbital Road, Tippendell Lane, Park Street Lane and Lye Lane.

3. that length of Chequers Lane, Abbots Langley from its junction with A405 North Orbital Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 351m.

An alternative route will be via A405 St Albans Road, High Elms Lane and Chequers Lane. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GRANGE STREET, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Grange Street, St Albans from its junction with A1081 St Peters Street north westwards for a distance of approximately 25m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via A1081 St Peters Steet, A4147 Catherine Street, Bernard Street and Grange Street.

The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 16 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of Welclose Street, St Albans from its junction with Fishpool Street north eastwards to its junction with Lower Dagnall Street, a distance of approximately 130m. An alternative route will be via Fishpool Street, Branch Road, Mount Pleasant and Lower Dagnall Street.

2. that length of Cuckmans Drive, Chiswell Green from its junction with Stanley Avenue north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Hollybush Avenue, a distance of approximately 452m.

An alternative route will be via Stanley Avenue, Hollybush Avenue, Hawthorn Way and Cherry Hill.

3. that length of Warwick Road, St Albans from its junction with Boundary Road north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF REDBOURN PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.017) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Redbourn Public Footpath No.017 from its junction with High Street south westwards to its junction with The Common, a distance of approximately 159m ("the Public Footpath").

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of High Street, the footway situated on the north side of Fish Street and the footway situated on the north and east sides of The Common.

The Order is needed because street lighting works are proposed to be executed near the Public Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 January 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.

An alternative route will be via A5183 Watling Street, A414 North Orbital Road, A1081 (London Colney Bypass/Bell Link Overbridge), B556 (Bell Lane/Harper Lane) and A5183 (Watling Street/Radlett Road/Frogmore/Park Street).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coldharbour Lane, Harpenden from its junction with Waterside north westwards for a distance of approximately 60m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via Coldharbour Lane, B652 Station Road, B653 Lower Luton Road, Westfield Road and Coldharbour Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Wilkins Green Lane/Wilkins Green, Smallford from its junction with A1057 Hatfield Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 222m ("the length of Roads"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A1057 (Hatfield Road/St Albans Road West), Ellenbrook Lane, Wilkins Green Lane and Wilkins Green.

The Order is needed because utility connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.
