What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (WEST LEAKE ROAD, EAST LEAKE TO WEST LEAKE) (40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024 (8368)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council proposes to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effects of which will be, in respects of roads at East Leake and West Leake in the Borough of Rushcliffe in the County of Nottinghamshire.
1. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on that length of road specified in the Schedule of this Order. WEST LEAKE ROAD, EAST LEAKE TO WEST LEAKE From a point 214 metres west of the western property boundary of No.19 West Leake Road in a westerly then northerly direction to a point 26 metres south of its junction with Main Street, West Leake. Relevant documents may be inspected during opening hours at:
(a) The Nottinghamshire County Council, County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7QP.
(b) East Leake Library, Gotham Road, East Leake, Loughborough. LE12 6JG

The proposed reduction in speed limit is required to ensure that the speed limits reflect the character of the road and improve perceptions of road safety.
