What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
PART OF FOOTPATH 12-2-FP7 PADIHAM, BURNLEY AND PART OF PADIHAM GREENWAY, A NON DEFINITIVE ROUTE TO WHICH THE PUBLIC HAVE ACCESS
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 2nd January, 2024, remaining in force until the 2nd January, 2025, or until any necessary works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding over those lengths of the routes indicated below:-

Part of Public Footpath 12-2-FP7 Padiham, Burnley, from its junction with Park Road (GR 379137 433676), at Point A to its junction with Public Footpath 12-2-FP32 Padiham (GR 379074 433590) at Point B, a total distance of approximately 70 metres.

Part of Padiham Greenway, a non definitive route to which the public have access, from Point C near the pedestrian access path towards Wilding Way (GR 379191) to a junction with other unrecorded routes at Point D (GR 379069 433588), a total distance of approximately 130 metres.

The temporary closure is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking any necessary works
