(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of highway in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea in the County of Northumberland.
U6520 Queens Place from its junction with New Queen Street to Moorview heading east for a distance of 35 metres.
U6520 Queen Street from its point outside of house number 2 Queen Street heading south for a distance of 20 metres.
U6520 Waverley Place from its junction with Queen Street heading east for a distance of 50 metres.
The Order is to be effective from the 17th January 2024 until the 17th July 2024. It is expected that the roads will only be closed from the 17th January 2024 until the 20th January 2024 between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 17th July 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via New King Street, Marine Street, New Queen Street, High Street.
This Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will hereby further suspend the one-way systems on Queens Place, Queen Street and Waverley Place Newbiggin-by-the-Sea from the Order namely Northumberland County Council The County of Northumberland (Newbiggin-By-The-Sea General Improvement Area Scheme) (One Way Streets) Order 1976 dated 9th January 1976 and referenced in the Schedules as follows:-
No. 60 -The full length of Queens Place from West to East.
No. 61 - That part of Queen Street which extends from Waverley Place to Queens Place from South to North.
No.64 - The full length of Waverley Place from West to East.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out carriageway, footway construction and resurfacing works.
In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
