What is happening?

CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL NOTICE 1A GS TRO7718 (Various Streets in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO.1) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that Cheshire West and Chester Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic during preparation works for, and the surface treatment works programme from the 29th January 2024 for a maximum of 18 months with the expectation that the works are anticipated to finish by October 2024.

It is anticipated that all roads in the below schedule will be closed for an estimated maximum of 14 days within the road closure notice period; the closure may be on consecutive days or on separate days depending upon site, weather conditions and works required.

Advanced Warning signs will be placed on site at least 5 days before the planned commencement of the works. Works will take place 7 days a week. Schedule of affected roads:

  • A56 High Street, Frodsham - between Fluin Lane and B5152 Red Lane - Diversion Route: B5394 Fluin Ln to B5152 Red Road HGV route (due to low bridge): B5394 Fluin Ln, B5152 Red Rd Church Rd, Howey Lane to A56.
  • A556 Chester Road, Oakmere - between Sandiway and A559 sliproad to Hartford - Diversion Route: A49 to Sandybrow, A54 Chester Rd, A54 Oakmere Rd, A54 High St, A54 Wharton Roundabout, A5018 Wharton Rd, A533 Davenham Bypass, A533 Kingsmede back to A556.
  • A559 Chester Road Hartford - from the A556 slip road to Greenbank - Diversion Route: A556 Hartford Bypass, A533 Kingsmede, A533 London Rd, A533 Chester Way, A559 Castle St, A559 Greenbank.
  • UV2348 Onston Lane, Crowton - between Station Road to Bag Lane (full extent).
  • C729 Hodge Lane, Weaverham - between Weaverham Rd to B5153 Northwich Rd (full extent).
  • C702 Manley Road, Frodsham - between Hazelhurst to New Pale Rd.
  • UY164 Road One, Winsford - between A533 Roundabout and Road Four.
  • UW2862 Firdale Road, Northwich - between Burrows Hill to Redgate.
  • UX842 Vicarage Lane, Little Budworth - between Park Road and Budworth Pool Mill Ln.
  • C701 Manley Lane, Manley - between Nortons Ln and Cob Hall Ln.

Alternative Routes for through traffic: Alternative routes will be provided for vehicles as per the signed diversion on site. Information is also shown on the website 'One.Network' which informs of road closures and diversion routes. Exemptions are provided in the order for any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes and also vehicles associated with the works and where possible for any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to the lengths of road affected. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC TRO7706 - Station Road in Shakerley Ward

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Shakerley Ward to enable excavation to locate water main works to be carried out by United Utilities. Station Road - "Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes. The Order will come into force on 16th January 2024 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 4 weeks to complete. Alternative routes for through traffic - Traffic should proceed via Station Road, Manchester Road, Manchester Road Ex Trunk, Chester Road, Shurlach Road, Rudheath Roundabout, Birches Lane.
