Footpaths Cheshunt 2, 4, 8, 12, 13, 18 And Hoddesdon 50 - Temporary Closing

What is happening?

BROXBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATHS CHESHUNT 2, 4, 8, 12, 13, 18 AND HODDESDON 50 (EXTENSION NOTICE)

NOTICE is given that an extension of 12 months has been granted to an Order made by Broxbourne Borough Council under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpaths
i. Cheshunt 2, from Church Lane, southwest to Broomer Place as for approx 510 metres.
ii. Cheshunt 4, from Church Lane, southwest to Riverside path footbridge for approx 240 metres.
iii. Cheshunt 8, from Brookfield Lane west, south to Aldermere Ave for approx 630 metres.
iv. Cheshunt 12, from Tudor Close south to Lieutenant Ellis Way for approx 530 metres as far as the footbridge.
v. Cheshunt 13, north of Lieutenant Ellis Way as far as the footbridge southwest to M25 for approx 1.3 km as far as the footbridge.
vi. Cheshunt 18, from Canada Lane, southwest to Brookfield Lane West, for approx 1.2 km.
vii. Hoddesdon 50, from Church Lane, south to Huntingdon Close for approx 340 metres.

All alternative routes for pedestrians for footpaths Hoddesdon 2, 4, 8, 12, 13, 18 & Cheshunt 50 will be displayed when closures are in place.

The purpose of the Order is to extend the closure which has been in place since 6 January 2023 to enable sheet piling repair works to take place along the New River path for Thames Water.

Footpaths Cheshunt 2, 4, 8, 12, 13, 18 and Hoddesdon 50 (mainly Cheshunt 13) will remain closed until 6 January 2025, when signs are in place. Works are expected to take 12 months to complete.
