What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order:
ORDER NO. MCC136675064: The City of Manchester (Firdale Avenue, Moston Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Firdale Avenue from Nuthurst road to its cul-de sac end. The alternative routes for traffic will be: N/A. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a Telecommunication Pole. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 24th January 2024. The order shall come into operation on 24th January 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 11th January 2024.
ORDER NO. MCC136888919: The City of Manchester (Acres Road, Chorlton Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Acres Road from its junction with Beech Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 25 metres. The alternative routes for traffic will be: (1) Beech Road, Chequers Road, High Lane, Acres Road (2) Beech Road, Stockton Road, High Lane, Acres Road. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Civil works required for Telecoms install. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 23rd January 2024. The order shall come into operation on 23rd January 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 11th January 2024.
ORDER NO. MCC136942202: The City of Manchester (Atherton Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict traffic on Atherton Street at its junction with Quay Street.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Quay Street, Lower Byrom Street, Great John Street & Vice Versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane lift. It is expected that the works will be in progress on dates agreed with a minimum of 7 days’ notice between 22nd January 2024 to 26th February 2024. The order shall come into operation on 22nd January 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC136794819: The City of Manchester (Jacksons Row, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Jacksons Row from Deansgate Southmill Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Deansgate, Peter Street, Mount Street, Central Street, Southmill Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibit on is necessary in order to facilitate a sewer connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 22nd January 2024 to 5th February 2024. The order shall come into operation on 22nd January 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
