Provision of Speed Humps, Entry Treatment and Kerb to Kerb Raised

Junction Speed Tables - Gants Hill South Area

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to control the speed of vehicles under the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the provisions of the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge proposes to construct sinusoidal speed humps, entry treatment and raised kerb to kerb junction speed tables at each of the following locations:

(a) Outside Nos. 94 and 96, 114, 115 and 117, 134, 152 and 154, 174, 192, 212, 216, 256, 276 and 278, 291, 296 & 298, 310, 316 and 318, 329, 338 and 340, 345 and 347, 358, 360, 394 Wanstead Park Road or thereabouts;

(b) Outside No. 1 Wells Gardens or thereabouts;

(c) Outside No. 12 Carlisle Gardens or thereabouts;

(d) Outside No. 162 Wanstead Lane or thereabouts;

(e) Outside Nos. 2 and 14 Wakefield Gardens or thereabouts;

(f) Outside Nos. 13 metres east of No. 1, 15, 16 Ripon Gardens or thereabouts;

(g) Outside Nos. 3 and 81 Canterbury Avenue or thereabouts;

(h) Outside No. 8 Peterborough Gardens or thereabouts;

(i) Outside Nos. 5, 19, 33 and 35 Chichester Gardens or thereabouts;

(j) Outside 13 metres south-east of the common boundary Nos. 2 & 4 and Outside 12.2 metres south-west of the common boundary Nos. 46 & 48 Stonehall Avenue or thereabouts;

(k) Outside No. 12 Castle Drive or thereabouts;

(l) Outside no. 54 and 74 Castleview Gardens;

(m) Outside Nos. 7 and 9 The Crescent or thereabouts;

(n) Outside No. 14 Cranbrook Rise or thereabouts;

(o) Outside Nos. 19 and 21, 38, 56, 68, 82, 118, 162 Wanstead Lane or thereabouts;

(p) Outside No. 2 Hillview Crescent or thereabouts;

(q) Outside No. 7 Devonport Gardens or thereabouts;

(r) Outside 15 metres east of Nos. 2, 16, 32-34 Preston Gardens or thereabouts;

(s) Outside 10 metres east of No. 1, Nos. 12 and 14 and 26 Rochester Gardens or thereabouts;

(t) Outside Nos. 13 and 15, 26 and 28, 27 and 29 Exeter Gardens or thereabouts;

(u) Outside Nos. 8 and 10, 22 and 24 Chelmsford Gardens or thereabouts;

(v) Outside Nos. 6 and 8, 13, 24 and 26, 38 Lincoln Gardens or thereabouts;

(w) Outside Nos. 12 and 14 Hereford Gardens or thereabouts; and

(x) Outside No. 2 Gloucester Gardens or thereabouts.

(y) Castle Drive at its junction with Evanston Road;

(z) Wanstead Lane at its junctions with Canterbury Avenue and Wanstead Lane;

(aa) Canterbury Avenue at its junction with Truro Gardens and Chelmsford Gardens;

(bb) The Drive at its junction with Worcester Gardens;

(cc) The Drive at its junctions with Castle Drive and Castleview Gardens;

(dd) The Drive at its unction with Empress Avenue;

(ee) The Drive at its junction with Exeter Gardens;

(ff) The Drive at its junction with Endsleigh Gardens;

(gg) Beehive Lane at its junction with Castleview Gardens;

(hh) Beehive Lane at its junctions with Clarence Avenue and Wanstead Lane; and

(ii) Beehive Lane at its junction with St Edmund's Road.

2. The speed humps (a) to (x) would be of sinusoidal design, not more than 75 millimetres at their highest point with an overall length of 3.7 metres, a width of 1.6 metres and kerb channels. The speed humps would be constructed in accordance with Department of Transport Regulations.

3. The entry treatment (z) would be of flat top design, not more than 75 millimetres at their highest point with an overall length would vary. The entry treatment would be constructed at the junction from kerb to kerb without channels and in accordance with Department for Transport Regulations.

4. The raised kerb to kerb junction speed tables (aa) to (ii) would be of flat top design, not more than 75 millimetres at their highest point and extend beyond width of junctions. The raised junction speed tables would be constructed from kerb to kerb without channels and in accordance with Department for Transport Regulations.

5. A copy of the plan showing the locations of the traffic calming measures may be inspected between 9.00am and 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays (9.30am to 4.30pm on Wednesdays) at the information Centre, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, Essex IG1 1NY.

6. Any person wishing to object or make representation to the proposals should send a statement in writing of their objection or representation and the grounds thereof to the Chief Environmental Services Officer, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, Essex IG1 1NY quoting reference GH S/TC/SA/DB - SA by no later than 1st February 2024.
