What is happening?

West Sussex County Council

(Shoreham-By-Sea: Kings Walk) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Kings Walk in Shoreham-By-Sea from its junction with West Beach to its junction with Beach Green.

The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 15 January 2024 to 15 March 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order the road will be closed in sections to maintain access and alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Angmering: Old Worthing Road)  (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Old Worthing Road in Angmering, from its junction with the A259, to its junction with Roundstone Lane.

This restriction is needed to allow new electricity cables to be installed.

The Order will come into effect on 15 January 2024 and remain in force until 5 April 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Worthing: Bost Hill) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council intends to make has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Bost Hill in Worthing, from its junction with West Hill to its junction with the A24.

The road closure is needed to allow maintenance works to highway verges to be carried out in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 17 January 2024 and remain in force until 26 January 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Adur District and Worthing Borough: Various Roads) (Road Maintenance Programme) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date  of this notice, West Sussex County Council intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, temporarily prohibit waiting  at any time and temporarily introduce 20 mph speed limits on the following roads in Adur District and Worthing Borough throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated:

LANCING: Blenheim Road, Brighton Road (A259) from Seamill Park Avenue to Elm Grove, Chartwell Road, Commerce Way, Elms Drive, Field Close, Freshbrook Road, Freshfield Close, Freshfield Drive, Gordon Road, Hadlow Way, Marlborough Road, Penhill Road, Rosecroft Close, South Street from the railway level crossing to Grinstead Lane, Spencer Road, Vincent Close, Western Road from Winston Road to Brighton Road (A259).

SHOREHAM/SOUTHWICK: Adur Bridge Roundabout, Bay Tree Close, Berberis Court, Bergamot Crescent, Clarendon Road from King George Road to Kingston Lane, Connaught Avenue, Cross Road, Freehold Street, Greenacres, Greenacres footpaths, Japonica Close, Kingston Lane from Old Shoreham Road to Ashcroft Close, Lavender Hill, Marjoram Place, Meadway Court, Mile Oak Road from the entrance to The Glebe to Downsway, Mill Lane from Upper Shoreham Road to Southdown Road, Mill Lane Twitten, Old Shoreham Road (A283) from Upper Shoreham Road to Ropetackle, Park Lane from Kingston Lane to Southview Road, Ropewalk, Rosemary Drive, Saffron Close, Southdown Road, Southwick Street from Old Shoreham Road to Southwick Square, Steyning Road from the Adur Bridge Roundabout northwards for 200 metres, Tarragon Way, Thyme Close, Victoria Road.

SOMPTING: Cokeham Lane, Loose Lane, Osborne Close, Osborne Drive, Perveril Drive, Peveril Close, Tristram Close, Whitestyles Road.

WORTHING: Balcombe Avenue From a point 40 metres north of its junction with Wiston Avenue, southwards for 80 metres, South Farm Road from Henty Road to Teville Road, Wiston Avenue from South Farm Road to Cranleigh Road.

These restrictions are needed to allow the 2024 road maintenance programme to be carried out in safety. Each of the affected roads are expected to be closed for up to three days.  Dates for works will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time they are carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 25 January 2024 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
