What is happening?

PUBLIC NOTICE 

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (UPPER GREEN/LOTHIANS ROAD/STOCKWELL ROAD/ MALTHOUSE LANE/KEEPERS LANE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road: • Upper Green closed one way in a southerly direction only between its junction with The Rock/Wergs Road and its junction with High Street. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 18 January 2024 until 19 January 2024 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wergs Road, Regis Road, Grange Road and Limes Road. • Stockwell Road closed in both directions between its junctions with Church Hill Road and Lothians Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Malthouse Lane, Lower Street, The Rock and vice versa. • Malthouse Lane closed in both directions from its junction with Lothians Road to its junction with The Orchard. • The Orchard closed in both directions at its junction with Malthouse Lane (access/ egress to frontages to be maintained).Vehicular Diversion Route: Lower Street, The Rock, Stockwell Road and vice versa. • Lothians Road closed in both directions between its junction with Stockwell Road/ Malthouse Lane and its junction with Tyinghame Avenue. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 22 January 2024 until 23 January 2024 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only. Vehicular Diversion Route: Lower Street, Malthouse Lane and vice versa. It is intended that only one closure will be in place at any one time and will be fully removed prior to the next section of road being closed. • Keepers Lane closed in both directions from its junction with Wergs Road to its junction with Wergs Drive. • Keepers Lane closed in both directions at its junction with Wergs Drive and Wergs Drive closed in both directions at its junction with Keepers Lane. • Keepers Lane closed in both directions between its junction with Wergs Drive to its junction with Chatworth Gardens, and Chatworth Gardens closed in both directions at its junction with Keepers Lane. • Keepers Lane closed in both directions between its junction with Chatworth Gardens to the boundary with Staffordshire Council. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 25 January 2024 until 26 January 2024 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wergs Road, Holyhead Road, Heath House Lane, Histons Hill, Suckling Green Lane and vice versa. It is intended that only one closure will be in place at any one time and will be fully removed prior to the next section of road being closed. The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken at the times detailed above, and on the dates stipulated. The Order is required to facilitate installation of signage, road markings and traffic calming measures.
