What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

Beddow Way, Aylesford, ME20 7BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2024

To allow Section 50 and resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Beddow Way, Aylesford, from 20.00 hours on 2nd February 2024, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 5th February 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of CNG Fuel Station, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Beddow Way, Forstal Road, The Running Horse Roundabout, A229 Sandling Interchange, Cobtree Roundabout, A229 Chatham Road, A229 Bluebell Hill, Kits Coty Slip Road, Rochester Road, Pratling Street, Beddow Way and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bircholt Road, Maidstone, ME17 3FW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Bircholt Road, Maidstone, on or after 30th January 2024, with estimated completion by 20th February 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 05.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Cuxton Road, Bicknor Road, Wallis Avenue, A274 Sutton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Broomfield Road, Kingswood, ME17 3ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Broomfield Road, Kingswood, on or after 1st February 2024, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Goodwood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Broomfield Road, Chartway Street, A274 Maidstone Road, B2163 Leeds Road, B2163 Upper Street, B2163 Lower Street, B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Broomfield Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Caring Lane, Leeds.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Caring Lane, Leeds, on or after 17th January 2024, for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Wildacres, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Caring Lane, Caring Road, Otham Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Caring Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Dean Street, East Farleigh, ME15 0HN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Dean Street, East Farleigh, on or after 17th January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Malthouse Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

East Street, Hunton, ME15 0RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of East Street, Hunton, on or after 15th January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between The Roundels & Bridge House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via East Street, Hunton Road, Underlyn Lane, B2079 Maidstone Road, A229 Linton Hill, Redwall Lane, George Street, East Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Eyhorne Street, Hollingbourne, ME17 1PA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2024

To allow ducting installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Eyhorne Street, Hollingbourne, on 4 consecutive Sundays - 4th February 2024, 11th February 2024, 18th February 2024 & 25th February 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of A20 Ashford Road to the junction of Eyhorne Green, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Hollingbourne Hill, Swanton Street, Primrose Lane, Bredgar Road, Hearts Delight Road, Wrens Road, Sutton Baron Road, Oad Street, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Bearsted Road, New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Eyhorne Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Forge Lane, Leeds, ME17 1RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Forge Lane, Leeds, on or after 2nd February 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Brogden Farm Oast, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Forge Lane, Back Street, Horseshoes Lane, B2163 Upper Street, Forge Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Grigg Lane, Headcorn, TN27 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2024

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Grigg Lane, Headcorn, on or after 1st February 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Ringles Gate, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Grigg Lane, Baker Lane, Lenham Road, Oak Lane, Grigg Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hampstead Lane, Nettlestead, ME18 6HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hampstead Lane, Nettlestead, on or after 21st January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Maidstone Road, A228 Hale Street By Pass, Branbridges Road, Beltring Road, Gravelly Ways and Lees Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Heath Road, West Farleigh.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Heath Road, West Farleigh, on or after 29th January 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Twinwood House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Leeds Road, Langley.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Leeds Road, Langley, on or after 4th February 2024, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Rosewood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2163 Leeds Road, B2163 Upper Street, B2163 Lower Street, B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, Sutton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lenham Road, Platts Heath.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lenham Road, Platts Heath, on or after 30th January 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Corks Court Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lenham Road, Headcorn Road, Sandway Road, East Street, A20 Ashford Road, Chegworth Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lower Street, Leeds, ME17 1RR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Street, Leeds, on or after 29th January 2024, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Leeds C P School, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lower Street, B2163 Upper Street, B2163 Leeds Road, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2163 Penfold Hill, B2163 Lower Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Shearway Lane, Headcorn.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shearway Lane, Headcorn, on or after 29th January 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Sherway Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Shearway Lane, Grigg Lane, Oak Lane, A274 Smarden Road, Bedlam Lane, Sherway Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

South Street, Barming.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of South Street, Barming, from 01.00 hours on 21st January 2024, with estimated completion by 04.00 hours on 22nd January 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

 

Tovil Road, Maidstone, ME15 6UP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tovil Road, Maidstone, on or after 3rd February 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 40, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic:-

Southbound is via Tovil Road, College Road, Mill Street, Bishops Way, The Broadway, St Peters Bridge, Fairmeadow, Bishops Way, Palace Avenue, Lower Stone Street, Upper Stone Street, A229 Loose Road, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Tovil Road and vice versa.

Northbound is via B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Farleigh Hill, Dean Street, B2163 Heath Road, A229 Linton Road, A229 Loose Road, Sheals Crescent, College Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Weavering Street, Weavering, ME14 5JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow pole installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Weavering Street, Weavering, on or after 29th January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Grovewood Drive South, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Weavering Street, Grovewood Drive North, Provender Way, Grovewood Drive South, Weavering Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Willington Street, Maidstone, ME15 8HH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Willington Street, Maidstone, on or after 29th January 2024, for up to 5 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 409, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road, Wat Tyler Way, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road and Willington Street.

The alternative route for HGVs is via Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road, New Cut Road, Bearsted Road, A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Wat Tyler Way, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road and Willington Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
