Rear Gloucester Road - Prohibition Of Traffic For Works
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(REAR GLOUCESTER ROAD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 4 January 2024 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from proceeding on Rear Gloucester Road from Westgate Road, southwards, for 53 metres.
2. Appropriate traffic management will be in place during the closure.
3. The Order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and where possible, for police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 12 January 2024 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, for 2 weeks or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
