A2 TRUNK ROAD – JUBILEE WAY TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
What is happening?
A2 TRUNK ROAD – JUBILEE WAY
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(b) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because of the likelihood of danger to the public.
This forms an extension of Temporary Notice NH/2023/E901 (which it thereby replaces) as permitted by The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions)
Procedure Regulations 1992 (a), Regulation 7.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the 24-hour imposition of a 30mph speed restriction on the London-bound carriageway of the A2 between points 650 metres south and 150 metres north of the centreline of Upper Road overbridge (thereby representing a 600 metre extension of the permanent speed limit).
This measure is in the interests of road safety in the event of running water and spray following rain.
The Order will come into force on Wednesday 10th January 2024 and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
The temporary speed restriction will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when it is in operation during the danger period.
