What is happening?
THE CITY OF MANCHESTER (VARIOUS STREETS, ANCOATS)
(EXPERIMENTAL PROHIBITION OF DRIVING EXCEPT CYCLES
AND ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023 Notice is hereby
given that on 19 December 2023 Manchester City Council
made the above named Order under Sections 9 and 10 of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order,
is introduced on an experimental basis for a period of up to
18 months; Experimental prohibition of driving except cycles on;
Gun St-From Blossom St in a south easterly direction for 5m
Henry St-From a point 10m south east of George Leigh St in
a south easterly direction for 4m Loom St-From a point 9m
north east of Cotton St in a north easterly direction for 2m
Radium St-From Jersey St in a north westerly direction
for 6m Prohibition of Driving except cycles and authorised
vehicles on Bengal St-From Bossom St in a north westerly
direction to Naval St Blossom St-From a point 6m north east
of Sherratt St in a north westerly direction for 3m Experimental
one way traffic on; Bengal St-both sides from Jersey St in a
NW direction to Blossom St Blossom St-both sides from Bengal
St in a SW direction to Murray St Murray St-both sides from
Blossom St in a SE direction to Hood St Naval St-both sides
from Poland St in a SW direction to Radium St Naval St-both
sides from Bengal St in a northeasterly direction to Radium St
Poland St-both sides from Oldham Road in a SE direction
to Naval St Poland St-both sides from Jersey St in a NW
direction to Naval St Portugal St-both sides from Poland St in a
NE direction to Wadeford Close Portugal St-both sides from
Poland St in a SW direction to Radium St Radium St-both sides
from Naval St in a NW direction to Oldham Rd Silk St-both sides

Experimental One Way Traffic except cycles on; Bengal St-both
sides from Oldham Rd in a SE direction to Naval St George
Leigh St-both sides from Bengal St in a NE direction to
Radium St George Leigh St-both sides from Poland St in a
SW direction to Radium St Existing restrictions will be suspended
for the duration of the Experimental Orders. The Order will
come into operation on 15 January 2024. A copy of the Order
together with a plan showing the roads to which it relates and
a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the Order
may be inspected at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor,
Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB)
between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday.
The Council will be considering in due course whether the
provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely.
Within a period of six months from the coming into force of
the Order or if the Order is subsequently varied or amended
from the coming into force of the variation or modification
(whichever is the latter) any person may object to the indefinite
continuation of the provisions of the Order. Any person wishing
to object should submit their grounds of objection in writing
to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or the address below no later
