ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 THE A61 TRUNK ROAD (WESTWOOD ROUNDABOUT TO TANKERSLEY INTERCHANGE ROUNDABOUT)
(TEMPORARY 30 MILES PER HOUR SPEED RESTRICTION)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A61 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Barnsley, to enable pavement resurfacing works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 8 January 2024 for 12 weeks, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to impose a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A61 carriageway from its junction with Westwood Roundabout to its junction with Tankersley Interchange Roundabout, for a distance of 1055 metres.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restriction (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles). The Order comes into force on the 7 January 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
