What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATH PRESTON 2

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians from using that length of Footpath Preston 2, heading east from St Albans Highway then north to junction with Langley 1, for an approximate distance of 500m.

Alternative Route: no suitable alternative on PRoW network

The purpose of the Order is to enable utilities works to take place.

The section of Footpath Preston 2 will be closed on or after 15 January 2024 for up to 4 weeks, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN B197 LONDON ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B197 London Road, Stevenage from its junction with the Hertford Road roundabout north westwards to its junction with the B197 Monkswood Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 463m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road/Mardley Hill/ Great North Road), A1000 (Welwyn Bypass Road/Hertford Road), the A1(M), A602 Broadhall Way and B197 Monkswood Way or B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road/Mardley Hill/Great North Road), A1000 (Welwyn Bypass Road/Hertford Road/Bessemer Road/Mundells), B195 (Black Fan Road/Cole Green Lane/Birchall Lane), A414 (Cole Green Bypass/Hertingfordbury Road/Gascoyne Way/London Road/ Rush Green Link), A10 (unnamed road), A602 (Westmill Road/Tonwell Bypass/Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass/Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way) and B197 Monkswood Way.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of The Dell, Stevenage from its junction with Hillcrest north westwards, south westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Hillcrest, Stevenage from its junction with Made Feld south westwards to its junction with Bedwell Crescent, a distance of approximately 125m.

An alternative route will be via Hillcrest, Bedwell Crescent, A1155 Fairlands Way and Bedwell Crescent.

3. that length of Ely Close, Stevenage from its junction with Martins Way north westwards for a distance of approximately 96m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. the service road fronting Nos.44-58 High Street, Stevenage from its junction with Bell Lane north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Bell Lane, Stevenage from its junction with the service road fronting Nos.44-58 High Street south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

6. that length of Whitesmead Road, Stevenage from its junction with Hellards Road north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

7. that length of Hellards Road, Stevenage from its junction with Alleyns Road north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Letchmore Road, a distance of approximately 200m.

An alternative route will be via Alleyns Road and Letchmore Road.

8. that length of Columbus Close, Stevenage from its junction with Chells Way north eastwards, south eastwards, north westwards, south westwards and north eastwards for its entire length. There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

9. that length of Chells Way, Stevenage from its junction with A1155 Fairlands Way south eastwards to its junction with Drakes Drive, a distance of approximately 197m.

An alternative route will be via A1155 Fairlands Way, B1037 Fairlands Way, Mobbsbury Way and Chells Way.

10. that length of Winchester Close, Stevenage from its junction with Pilgrims Way westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of High Street, Offley from its junction with Kings Walden Road north westwards to its junction with Luton Road, a distance of approximately 232m.

An alternative route will be via Kings Walden Road, Hoo Lane, C25 (unnamed road), Whitehall Road, Church Road, Lilley Bottom, Hollybush Hill and Luton Road.

2. that length of Yeomanry Drive, Baldock from its junction with Sale Drive south westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the Westell Close roundabout, a distance of approximately 607m.

An alternative route will be via Yeomanry Drive.

3. that length of Wynn Close, Baldock from its junction with Yeomanry Drive north westwards for a distance of approximately 50m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. that length of Bush Spring, Baldock from its junction with Yeomanry Drive north eastwards for a distance of approximately 40m.

5. the Westell Close roundabout, Baldock from its junction with Yeomanry Drive clockwise for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via Yeomanry Drive.

6. that length of Westell Close, Baldock from its junction with the Yeomanry Drive roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

7. that length of Yeomanry Drive, Baldock from its junction with the Westell Close roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 86m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

8. that length of Yeomanry Drive, Baldock from its junction with the Westell Close roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Barley Rise, a distance of approximately 47m.

An alternative route will be via Yeomanry Drive.

9. that length of The Avenue, Hitchin from its junction with Highbury Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Wymondley Road, a distance of approximately 515m. An alternative route will be via Highbury Road and Wymondley Road.

10. that length of Chiltern Green, Hitchin from its junction with The Avenue south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Wymondley Road, a distance of approximately 300m. An alternative route will be via The Avenue, Highbury Road and Wymondley Road.

11. that length of B197 London Road, Knebworth from its junction with Station Road south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 728m.

An alternative route will be via B197 (Stevenage Road/London Road), A602 (Lytton Way/Hitchin Road/ Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road), B656 (London Road/Hitchin Road/High Street/Codicote Road/ Link Road/Church Street) and B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road) or via B197 (London Road/Mardley Hill/Great North Road), B656 (Church Street/Link Road/ Codicote Road/High Street/Hitchin Road/London Road), A602 (Stevenage Road/Wymondley Bypass/ Hitchin Road/Lytton Way/High Street/James Way/Lytton Way) and B197 (London Road/ Stevenage Road).

12. that length of Swangleys Lane, Knebworth from its junction with B197 London Road south eastwards to its junction with Old Lane, a distance of approximately 279m.

An alternative route will be via B197 London Road, Watton Road and Old Lane.

13. that length of Milestone Road, Knebworth from its junction with B197 London Road south westwards to its junction with Pondcroft Road, a distance of approximately 163m. An alternative route will be via B197 London Road, Station Road and Pondcroft Road.

14. that length of Park Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Station Approach north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Gipsy Lane, a distance of approximately 488m.

An alternative route will be via Station Approach, Station Road, B197 (London Road/Mardley Hill/ Great North Road), B656 (Church Street/Link Road/Codicote Road/High Street/Hitchin Road), Drivers End Lane and Park Lane.

15. that length of Gipsy Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Park Lane south eastwards to its junction with Orchard Way, a distance of approximately 422m.

An alternative route will be via Park Lane, Station Approach, Gun Lane, Stockens Green Lane and Gipsy Lane.

16. that length of Lytton Fields, Knebworth from its junction with Park Lane south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Hornbeam Spring, a distance of approximately 335m. An alternative route will be via Park Lane, Station Approach, Gun Lane and Hornbeam Springs.

17. that length of Wallington Road, Baldock from its junction with A505 Baldock Bypass south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Kits Lane, a distance of approximately 2842m.

An alternative route will be via A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road), C5 (unnamed road), Redhill, C10 (unnamed road), The Street and Kits Lane.

18. that length of Kits Lane/The Street and C10 (unnamed road), Wallington from its junction with Wallington Road south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Redhill, a distance of approximately 326m.

An alternative route will be via Wallington Road, A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road), C5 (unnamed road) and Redhill.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ARLESEY ROAD, ICKLEFORD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Arlesey Road, Ickleford from its junction with Turnpike Lane south eastwards to its junction with Old Hale Way, a distance of approximately 45m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Turnpike Lane, A600 Bedford Road, Bearton Road and Old Hale Way. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Rowan Crescent, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Cowslip Hill south westwards to its junction with Bedford Road, a distance of approximately 206m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cowslip Hill, Icknield Way and Bedford Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

An alternative route will be via New Inn Road, A1 (unnamed road/London Road), Edworth (unnamed road), High Street and New Inn Road or via New Inn Road, A1 (unnamed road), A507 Great North Road, Newnham Road, Ashwell Road, Newnham Way, Hinxworth Road, Ashwell Road, High Street and New Inn Road. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ARLESEY ROAD, ICKLEFORD) ORDER NO.2 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Arlesey Road, Ickleford from its junction with Ickleford Public Bridleway No.023 south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 303m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via Arlesey Road, Arlesey New Road, Wilbury Hills Road, Stotfold Road, A505 (Cambridge Road/Nightingale Road/Bunyan Road/Fishponds Road), A600 Bedford Road, Turnpike Lane and Arlesey Road.

The Order is needed because vegetation removal works are proposed to be executed near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF NO.12 OLDFIELD RISE, WHITWELL) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the east side of No.12 Oldfield Rise, Whitwell from its junction with Oldfield Rise north eastwards for a distance of approximately 28m ("the Footpath").

An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the east side of No.81 High Street, the footway situated on the south side of B651 High Street, the footway situated on the east side of B651 Horn Hill, the footway situated on the north side of Bradway and the footway situated on the west side of Oldfield Rise.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.

1. the footway situated on the south side of Coreys Mill Lane, Stevenage from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.88 Whitney Drive north westwards to its junction with Whitney Drive, a distance of approximately 55m.

An alternative route will be via Coreys Mill Lane, B197 North Road and Whitney Drive.

2. the footway situated on the north side of Coreys Mill Lane, Stevenage from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.88 Whitney Drive westwards for a distance of approximately 10m. An alternative route will be via Coreys Mill Lane, B197 North Road and Whitney Drive. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footways.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footways.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHANCELLORS ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chancellors Road, Stevenage from its junction with B197 North Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Daltry Road, a distance of approximately 96m ("the Road"). An alternative route will be via B197 North Road, Granby Road and Chancellors Road. The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A1072 Martins Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Hitchin Road/A1072 Gunnels Wood Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Canterbury Way/Grace Way roundabout ("the Road"), a distance of approximately 1337m, when signs are in place.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OXFORD ROAD, BREACHWOOD GREEN) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Oxford Road, Breachwood Green from a point 34m east of its junction with Chapel Road eastwards for a distance of approximately 55m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Chapel Road, Heath Road, The Heath, Darley Road, Church Road, Lilley Bottom Road, Lower Road and Oxford Road.

The Order is needed because water works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
