What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(MARY STREET, RHODESIA; STANLEY ROAD, RUFFORD STREET, SPUR CRESCENT, RADFORD STREET, WORKSOP)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2024 (BS24-010)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Rhodesia and Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road as listed in paragraph 3.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (both sides, 09:30-14:30) in the following lengths of road as listed in paragraph 3.
3.
a) Mary Street, Rhodesia – from its junction with Tylden Road to its junction with Marble Street
b) Stanley Street, Worksop – from its junction with Turner Road to its junction with James Street
c) Rufford Street, Worksop – from a point 150 metres in an easterly direction from its junction with Edinburgh Road in an easterly direction for a distance of 115 metres
d) Spur Crescent, Worksop – for its whole length
e) Radford Street, Worksop – for its whole length

4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

Mary Street, Rhodesia – Monday 22nd January 2024
Stanley Street, Worksop – from Thursday 25th until Friday 26th January 2024
Rufford Street, Worksop – from Monday 29th until Wednesday 31st January 2024
Spur Crescent, Worksop – from Thursday 1st until Tuesday 6th February 2024
Radford Street, Worksop – from Monday 19th until Thursday 22nd February 2024

From 09:30 hours until 14:30 hours weekdays only.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Mary Street, Rhodesia – Tylden Road, Marjorie Street, Winifred Street, Marble Street & vice versa
Stanley Street, Worksop – A60 Turner Road, B6040 Gateford Road, James Street & vice versa
Rufford Street, Worksop – Kingston Road, Spur Crescent, Edinburgh Road & vice versa
Spur Crescent, Worksop – Rufford Street, Edinburgh Road & vice versa
Radford Street, Worksop – Hardwick Road West, B6040 Retford Road, Cheapside, Lincoln Street & vice versa

The Order will come into force on 22nd day of January 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway maintenance works.
