What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(BRENTWOOD PLACE AND HALSTEAD PLACE, SOUTH SHIELDS) ORDER 2023

On 13 December 2023 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Order, which comes into operation on 08 January 2024 will revoke No Waiting At Any Time and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on: Victoria Road, South Shields west side (i) from a point 23m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 14m in a south and south westerly direction (ii) from a point 38m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 24m in a south and south easterly direction (iii) from a point 70m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 14m in a south and south westerly direction (iv) from a point 80m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 15m in a south and south westerly direction (v) from a point 97m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 10m in a southerly direction and (vi) from a point 125m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 11m in a south and south westerly direction. Victoria Road, South Shields east side (i) from a point 41m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 13m in a south and south easterly direction (ii) from a point 56m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 11m in a south and south westerly direction (iii) from a point 98m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 8.7m in a south and south westerly direction and (iv) from a point 112m south of its junction with Derby Terr for 10m in a south and south westerly direction.
The Order will introduce No Waiting At Any Time and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on: Brentwood Place, South Shields west side (i) from its junction with Derby Terr south eastwards for 14m (ii) from a point 24m southeast of its junction with Derby Terr south eastwards for 9m (iii) from a point 37.5m southeast of its junction with Derby Terr south eastwards for 13m and (iv) from a point 71m southeast of its junction with
Derby Terr south eastwards for 6m. Brentwood Place, South Shields east side (i) from its junction with Derby Terr south eastwards for 3m (ii) from a point 38.5m southeast of its junction with Derby Terr south eastwards for 6m and (iii) from a point 53m southeast of its junction with Derby Terr south eastwards for 6m. Halstead Place, South Shields west side (i) from its junction with Brentwood Place south eastwards for 6m (ii) from a point 16m southeast of its junction with Brentwood Place south eastwards for 10m (iii) from a point 45m southeast of its junction with Brentwood place south eastwards for a distance of 6m and (iv) from a point 55m southeast of its junction with Brentwood Place south eastwards for 15m. Halstead Place, South Shields east side (i) from its junction with Victoria Rd north westwards for 9m. Elizabeth Street, South Shields both sides (i) from its junction with Brentwood Place eastwards for 5m.
Robinson Street, South Shields both sides (i) from its junction with Halstead Place eastwards for 7m.
Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Town Hall at the address below. Alternatively, you can request a copy of the

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the Act have no been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 13 December 2023 when the Order was made, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
