What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
APPLEDORE ROAD, TENTERDEN. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Appledore Road, Tenterden, on or after 22nd January 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Myrtle Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Ferry Road, Tenterden Road, Reading Street, Appledore Road, Beacon Oak Road, Ashford Road, East Cross, High Street, West Cross, Smallhythe Road, Peening Quarter Road, Poplar Road, Stocks Road, Wittersham Road, Catts Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
BELL LANE & LEWD LANE, SMARDEN. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow new electrical connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Bell Lane & Lewd Lane, Smarden on or after 8th January 2024, with estimated completion by 26th January 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Bell Lane, Smarden will be imposed in the vicinity of Cousins Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site and will run in conjunction with temporary multi-way traffic lights.

BENENDEN ROAD, BIDDENDEN. TN27 8BU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Benenden Road, Biddenden, on or after 11th January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with A262 Tenterden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Tenterden Road, High Street, Sissinghurst Road, Biddenden Road, The Street, Chapel Lane, Cranbrook Road, Benenden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
FLOOD STREET & SOUTH STOUR ROAD, MERSHAM. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Flood Street & South Stour Road, Mersham, on or after 10th January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
Flood Street will be closed from Stone Oak to the junction with South Stour Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
South Stour Road will be closed from Elm Tree Farm to the junction with Flood Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route:-
For any through traffic for Flood Street is via Coopers Lane (known locally as Gill Lane), Colliers Hill, Chequer Tree Farm Road, Frith Road, Roman Road, Goldwell Lane, Station Road, Evegate Mill Lane, Hythe Road, The Street, Bower Road, Church Road and vice versa.
For any through traffic for South Stour Road is via South Stour Road, Cheesemans Green Lane, Feather Bed Lane, Chequer Tree Farm Road, Colliers Hill, Coopers Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
GOLDWELL LANE, GREAT CHART, TN26 1JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Goldwell Lane, Great Chart, on or after 23rd January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 14.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Etchden Road to the junction with Vitters Oak Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Goldwell Lane, Ashford Road, The Street, Ninn Lane, Etchden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
HARBOURNE LANE, TENTERDEN. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Harbourne Lane, Tenterden, on or after 23rd January 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Catdref Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Swain Road, Ashford Road, Grange Road, Church Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
KENARDINGTON ROAD & APPLEDORE ROAD, ASHFORD. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kenardington Road & Appledore Road, Ashford, on or after 11th January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
Kenardington Road will be closed from the junction with Snargate Road to the junction with Church Lane in Appledore Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Kenardington Road, Woodchurch Road, Bench Hill, Appledore Road, Warehorne Road, D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane Junction With B2067 To D1291 Junction With D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
KITHER ROAD & BANKS ROAD, ASHFORD. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Kither Road & Banks Road, Ashford, on or after 22nd January 2024, with estimated completion by 23rd February 2024, or until the works have been completed.
Kither Road will be closed from 22nd January 2024, with estimated completion by 9th February 2024.
The road will be closed for the entire length, to the actual extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Banks Road will be closed from 5th February 2024, with estimated completion by 23rd February 2024.
The road will be closed for the entire length, to the actual extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for Kither Road or Banks Road as they are both dead ends, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
STALISFIELD ROAD, CHARING. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stalisfield Road, Charing, on or after 22nd January 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bowl Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bowl Road, Stalisfield Church Road, Stalisfield Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
SWAIN ROAD & HARBOURNE LANE, TENTERDEN. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swain Road & Harbourne Lane, Tenterden, on or after 8th January 2024, with estimated completion by 23rd June 2024, or until the works have been completed.
Swain Road will be closed from the junction with the A28 Ashford Road to the track that leads to Little Harbourne Farm in Harbourne Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via A28 Ashford Road, Grange Road, Church Hill, Harbourne Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
THE RIDGEWAY, SMEETH. TN25 6SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow gas connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Ridgeway, Smeeth, on or after 9th January 2024, for up to 8 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lower Den, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Church Road, Hythe Road, The Ridgeway and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
WATER LANE, SMARDEN, TN27 8QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow tree felling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Water Lane, Smarden, on or after 22nd January 2024, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Wagoners, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Cage Lane, Biddenden Road, Burnthouse Lane, Smarden Bell Road, Bell Lane, Water Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
WYE ROAD, BOUGHTON ALUPH, TN25 4FJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wye Road, Boughton Aluph, on or after 23rd January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.30 and 16.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Rowan House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Wye Road, Faversham Road, White Hill, Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
