What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(HALLGATE, COTTINGHAM (PART)) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along part of Hallgate, Cottingham outside the church between 19.00 hours and 23.30 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed works to provide and fx a new cover, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within the time stated above. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via the remainder of Hallgate, Beck Bank, Thwaite Street, Newgate Street and King Street, Cottingham.
The road will be open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for the emergency services. The Order will commence 9 January 2024 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
